I got inspiration from the mortal instruments series :3 example: RUNES.

-------------------------------------

"Every mortal has a different symbol on them, known as Runes." Crystal explained as she rolled down her sleeves to cover her symbol.

"I'm one too! Omg I'm so happy I get to attend the party! JUST for Mortals! How cool is that?!" Lavender chirped as she showed me her pattern. It was a floral and fiery pattern that shone on her arms. My jaws hung as I looked at Nat.

"Really didn't want to show you but oh well....just quit with the puppy eyes...PLS...." She grumbled and rolled her eyes as she showed me hers. This time, the patterns ended with a sharp edge, as if it were spikes.

"Woah.... How do I know if I myself am a Mortal?" I asked, eager to know if I was a Mortal or not.

"Easy. Just relax and let your energy surge through your veins. Not even sure how lavender handled that..." Crystal questioned as she stared awkwardly at lavender, who was stuffing her burger in her mouth.

I rolled my eyes, giggling at Lavender, who was observing her symbol at the same time. Then, I realized that Crystal and Nat were staring at me. My eyes grew wide as I said," you want me to try?! No no no....way in the life of Pi am I ever a mortal." I laughed nervously in the hopes of them letting me off the hook.

"No, no! Your not escaping. C'mon.... Just do it!" Nat urged as she nudged me with her elbow. I sighed and relaxed. The energy surged through my blood, it was amazing, as if I were about to explode!

"YOUR A MORTAL!!!!!!!! OMG UR A MORTAAAAAAAA-" Lavender screamed. I swear that I nearly went deaf. Crystal covered her mouth and shot her a dirty look.

"If you scream one more time, I swear I'll make your mouth drop off!" She threatened. Lavender looked at her all puppy eyed and nodded. Crystal pushed her down to the sofa and lavender pouted, not making a sound. I looked at my...erm, what's it called again? Runes! It was curly and thin sharp lines and edges swirled my arm as it shone gold.

"Well, looks like you're invited!" Crystal and Nat said in unison.

"Jinx! You owe me a soda! Ha!" Nat boasted as Crystal laughed it off. I realized that lavender was turning red!

"Um... Lav? Are you ok? You're turning red...." I asked her in concern.

"RUN!!!!! THE GOLDEN FIRE IS GONNA BLOOOOW!!!!!!" Somebody shrieked as everyone ran out of the cafeteria.

"I got this.... Hey love? You want some cotton candy? I got some right here!" Crystal pulled out a huge tub of cotton candy out of her bag. Lavender stared at it and snatched it. Her redness disappeared as she gobbled the bundle of sugar down.

"Lesson learnt: ALWAYS stuff a cotton candy in your bag." Nat joked. Sort of. We laughed at her joke(including lavender). A boy with sea blue eyes dawned on me as I looked up. His hair was styled into a quiff, and dressed smartly. He was muscular as well and slightly tanned.

"What're you doing here Johnny? Go away!" Crystal whisper-shouted.

"Woah we have nothing to do with each other anymore so why don't you take your ass with you and go to another table while I chat with the new girl?!" He shot back. Crystal put her hands on her chest, with her face looking hurt.

"So, how's it doing new girl? You're pretty." He smirked flirtatiously.

"Is that a pickup line? If it is, I ain't in it. Try again next time. Buh bai!" I sang with a slight drop of annoyance.

"Sorry but what can you do to make me leave you alone?" He challenged me with a goofy smirk plastered across his face.

"Try me." I glared at him. "You there! Do me a favor and throw this manly beast into the dumps. Sorry big boy, tough luck! Like I said, try again next time!" I whispered. In no time, a spirit had taken him into the dumps.

"That burn jade! I like your attitude!" Nat winked. I giggled and went to return the plates and went off to finish unpacking the rest of my stuff waiting for me back in the dorm room.
