No normal person, here away from everything, could have heard him but the Adepti had once explained that he would be able to hear his name everywhere. In his task as a Yaksha, his name was automatically a call for help, which he, therefore, had to hear everywhere.
"If you can't bring yourself to kill, speak my name...and...well...if you want to meet me...then do the same..." was all he had said.
The other had to believe that and hope that Xiao would keep his word. Pantalone looked at him for a long time, one eyebrow raised.
"Xiao?"
but Venti did not answer.
"Who is that?"
The Archon looked at him challengingly, angry and defiant. "Never mind." Sighed the young man, "Too bad he has to die though." Venti smiled grimly and then said coldly:
"Kill him? Don't even try."
Pantalone laughed darkly, "Me? Oh no. She."
He pointed his thumb behind him., "I may be strong, but if you're looking for a true monster, trust me, she is one. At least in battle." Out of the shadows of darkness, a young girl emerged.
She had long black hair that hung almost to her feet. Where over half of it though was dark pink colored. Two thick strands of hair that hung just over her shoulders went from black hair to the same pink.
But the most fascinating thing was the three snow-white feathers, both left and right behind her head. Venti couldn't tell if they were just fashion or real.
The strangest thing about her though, were her closed eyes, with which, however, she seemed to orient herself perfectly. Over them and half her face, she wore white cloth crosses sewn together into a chain of crosses.
She looked more like a doll than a human being. Her skin was porcelain white and her body was as delicate as a young girl's. She looked nothing like a warrior, but Venti knew better than to be fooled by appearances.
He didn't know exactly how long she had been listening in the shadows, but probably long enough to know the whole situation.
"Well, you know what to do. Be so kind and bring me this Xiao alive. I don't want him dead yet."
He looked at the Archon, "Seems like this one has an interest in him and now I'm interested in why."
She nodded wanly, "Any idea who exactly I'm looking for?" asked Columbina, her voice seemed innocent and childlike, and Pantalone pulled a dark green cloth from his pocket.
A glove.
Xiao's glove.
Venti looked at the piece with wide eyes,
"Where did you get-", "Relax. The night I visited you, I took a little something from everyone, just for safety. And as you see, it wasn't a bad idea. He threw the glove to the girl, who caught it easily.
"This will do." She muttered in a delicate tone and was emerged by darkness again.
Venti wanted to run after her, but Pantalone grabbed his arm,
"No no... don't even try."
