Location- Cleveland.
Vasily Karpov sits, eating at a table in his cluttered house. He then suddenly hears the sounds of something crashing outside. He walks towards his downed blinds and peers through them. He sees Helmut Zemo standing by his car, the front end crumpled against Karpov's car. Zemo then starts talking as he walks towards the front door of the house.
Zemo:(From outside) Hello? Is this your car out front? I jumped the curb. Maybe we could take care of it ourselves. If you wanna call the cops, that's okay, too I guess.
Karpov eyes his gun that was on a stack of newspapers. He then gave his answer.
Karpov: No. No cops.
Zemo:(From outside) Thank you.
Karpov makes his way to the door, slides a heavy lock over and opens the door. The moment the door opened, Zemo punches Karpov in the face, knocking him out.
Zemo can now been seen inside of the house making a hole in the wall with a sledgehammer. He then stops once he sees a box inside of the wall. Zemo then grabs the box, walks over to a table, tips the box over spilling the contents onto the table.In the background we can see Karpov is hanging upside down, tied to the pipes in his basement. There are various documents on the table but what stick out the most is a red book with a star on the cover.
Zemo grabs the red book for a moment before putting it down and picking up a file with a phone of Karpov in his military uniform on. Zemo then looks over at Karpov and starts speaking to him.
Zemo: You have kept your looks, Colonel. Congratulations.
We then get a better look at Karpov and see that his head is in a sink, which is also filling up with water.
Zemo: "Mission report. December 16, 1991."
Karpov: Who are you?
Zemo: My name is Zemo. I will repeat my question. Mission report, December 16, 1991.
Karpov: How did you find me?
Zemo: When S.H.I.E.L.D. fell, Black Widow released HYDRA files to the public. Millions of pages. Much of it encrypted, not easy to decipher. But I have experience, and patience. A man can do anything if he has those.
Karpov: What do you want?
Zemo: Mission report. December 16. 1991.
Karpov: Go...to...hell!
Zemo walks over to the sink and leans on it. He then turns of the water and studies Karpov's upside down face.
Zemo: HYDRA deserves its place on the ash heap. So your death would not bother me. But I'd have to use this book (Talking about the red book) and other bloodier methods to find what I need. I don't look forward to that. You'd only be dying for... your pride.
Zemo stares at Karpov then nods resignedly. Zemo turns the water back on. The water is up to Karpov's eyes. Zemo watches the water level rise.
Karpov: Hail HYDRA.
Holding the red book, Zemo walks away as Karpov starts to drown.
