"Ready To Go?"

The sun woke me up slowly, like it wanted me to see something. I slowly opened my eyes, getting used to the light, and turned to my right to see my slightly transparent curtains letting in rays of pastel yellow. My completely opaque curtains were usually covering the ones letting in the light. I wondered why they weren't, until I hear a very familiar voice "Good morning Maddy! Would you like to walk Husky? I can't today because I have to go meet up with John." My mum cooed to my left, where she was standing in her usual work clothes. John is her co-worker/friend. They both work as hair-dressers.

"Um..... sure. I'll make myself breakfast. You can go now." I commented as she started to turn for my bedroom door. I didn't want to mention anything about breakfast, because she normally makes me eat something healthy, but oh no.... today will be different.

She kissed me a final goodbye and left. I eventually rose out of my bed after a 5 minute sleep in, and stretched my arms and legs on the edge of my single queen-sized bed.

I walked across the hall that led to my mum's room to go to my bathroom. I looked in the mirror, seeing what I see every day. I brushed out my hair, pulling it back into a slick ponytail. I sometimes label myself OCD because if my ponytail isn't slick without any bumps, I will redo it until it is all. Fricking. Day.

I jumped down my wooden stairs, to be welcomed by a huge dog jumping on me, only to realise it was Husky.

"Hey BooBoo! Who's hungry" I asked in a playful tone.

I was quickly responded by a loud bark.

I went over to the kitchen and crouched down to one of the shelves, pulling out the bag of dog food for big dogs, which definitely described Husky. I told him to sit, while I walked over to his food-bowl and poured the right amount of dog food in. I then pointed to the bowl, only to have me pushed out the way by him to get to the food that he found delicious. Yuck!

I laughed, walking back over to the kitchen to get my own breakfast, putting away Husky's. I reached up for the top cupboard, opening it to see the most amazing breakfast ever to be invented: Lucky Charms! You see, in Australia, it is EXTREMELY hard to find them, so when I moved here, I literally stacked up on Lucky Charms, EOS lip balms and Hershey's Cookies N' Creme bars, also being hard to get.

I got the almond milk out of the fridge, which surprisingly tastes really good with Lucky Charms, and poured them in together into a blue and white bowl. I pulled open the drawer with the cutlery and grabbed a desert spoon, putting it in the bowl and closing the shelf.

I quickly devoured the cereal, scared that my mum would catch me eating them. I'm only usually allowed to eat junk-food on Sundays. Husky had finished his breakfast by then, coming to sit next me, watching me eat. I put my bowl and spoon in the dishwasher, and went upstairs to get changed, Husky of course following me.

I opened my cupboard, pulling out a grey t-shirt with cat ears on it, black skinny-jeans, a woollen, flannel, oversized shirt as a jacket and my wheat Timberlands. God I loved those shoes. My grandfather bought them for me when I went to Canberra in Grade 7 for camp. It freezes your ass out there if you don't wear anything warm.

I jumped back down the stairs to see Husky with his leash in his mouth, looking up at me from the bottom of the staircase.

"Ready to go?" I asked as I grabbed the leash from his mouth and attaching it to his collar, being dragged out the door.

Hi

So I know my chapters are really long to some, but I just have so much to put int the story. I know I said that Hayes would be added in this chapter, but I didn't want it to be too long, so they will definitely be added in the next chapter!
