We had all finished our dinner, me helping Elizabeth and Skylynn clean up, while Nash and Hayes were talking about something in Nash's room, which was apparently "too secret" to know about.

"Thank you so much for coming, by the way. I really hope to meet your mother some day." Elizabeth said after I cleaned the last dish.

"It's fine. My mum really wanted to come, but like I said, she got caught up in work." I said, frowning. I swear to God I spend more time by myself than with my mum these days. It's like as soon as I turned into a teenager, she just left me.

"Well, it's been lovely talking to you tonight, and I hope to see you again soon." She said hugging me, me returning the thanks. I then turned to look up the stairs, calling Hayes.

"HAYES! I'm going; are you coming?" I yelled up the stairs, waiting a few seconds for a response.

Elizabeth looked at me with a questioning look, wanting to know what's happening.

"Oh, sorry. You were making desert. Hayes is coming over to look at the stars with me tonight, if that's okay with you. I heard that there is going to be a meteor shower. That's all." I said, completely forgetting to tell her. I didn't want her to think of anything...

"I'M COMING!" Hayes yelled. I soon heard thuds coming from upstairs, some swearing, and was soon greeted by the one and only, Hayes.

"Let's go. Bye mom!" Hayes waved, wrapping his arm around my shoulders.

We said our goodbye's, me putting my shoes on at the door, and heading out to go home.

"So, what time is the shower?" Hayes asked, looking up at the sky.

"Um... 8:30." I said, checking my phone for the notes about the meteor shower.

"And what time is it now?" He asked, turning to look at me. We were walking slowly, but finally had reached my door.

"8:24." I said, looking at my phone while unlocking the door and opening it. I was greeted by the warm atmosphere of my home, and Husky sitting at my door. He always sits at the door from 7:30pm, awaiting my mum.

"Don't mind Husky. He usually waits for my mum. She isn't coming until 10:30 though." I laughed, him bending down to pat my dog.

"Oh, and mum has a major cleanliness issue, so you might want to take of your shoes." I said, un-tying my laces and pulling off my Timberlands.

He slid off his black Vans, putting them on the shoe rack and walking over to my couch, sitting down. I just walked straight to the sliding glass doors, pulling them open, not bothering to close them and walked outside, meeting with the cold air once again.

I laid down, staring up at the sky, looking at the eternity that we call "Space". After a few minutes, I heard grass shuffling and crunching, and the ground beside me thud. I turned my head to see Hayes laying down, his eyes closed but facing up. I then returned to looking up as well. I was once again, astonished by what I saw.

"Do you do this often?" Hayes asked, opening his eyes and turning his head to me.

"Every night. They're so important to me." I said, my emotions slowly getting stronger.

"Why?" He asked curiously, now paying more attention to me.

Oh no. Why do I have to answer this?

"Um.... It's a really long story." I said, fumbling with my hands.

"Okay... well, they're magnificent. Why do you look at them so often?" He asked, looking back up.

"Have you ever heard of the word "superstition"?" I asked.

He shook his head, continuing to focus on the stars.

"It basically means that one thing happens because of another thing and that they are linked through astrology or religion, but I don't believe in religion, so that's why I look at them all the time. Like maybe they have a secret held within them, or that maybe they hold your entire life story. I don't know." I said, feeling a little embarrassed. What if he thought I was stupid?

My question was soon answered when I turned my head to se him staring at me with pure affection, or maybe hopefulness. I honestly don't know why.

"Wow." Is all he said, closing his eyes again.

"Yeah. It's a lot to take in, I know." I said, laughing a little.

"No, no. It's just that I've never met anyone before that truly defines something that deeply. Congratulations!" He laughed, clapping. I soon joined in laughing at his sarcasm.

"Thanks. I hate when people try to explain something and can barely work it out themselves." I laughed. It was true.

"Ok. So.... LOOK!" He yelled, pointing at a shooting star. It fell from white a low point, and only lasted a second, eventually fading away.

"I've never seen one before! They're so cool, and they are just like a ball with sparklers on it and the sparks fall behind them and oh my god!" He babbled, me giggling at his excitement. I've seen plenty before.

It's all the same.

"Yeah. They're amazing." I said, astonished. I slowly stated to close my eyes, drifting off to sleep when I was interrupted by a strange and unexpected question.

"Do you mind if I stay over?" Hayes asked, a slight blush showing on his cheeks through the darkness.

I was taken-aback by his question, not knowing how to respond. And then I remembered my mum. She is normally okay with me having friends over, but letting them sleep over without her knowing is pushing it sometimes.

But it's not school term.

"Yeah, sure." I said.

"Cool. Look! There's another one." He said as we both looked at another star.
