I wake up to find Kyle patting my forehead.
“Kyle? What are you doing here? It’s the middle of the night.” I say absolutely confused.
“Then would you like to tell me why you were screaming? You woke me faster than my alarm clock.”
“I wasn’t screaming, was I?” I try and remember what I was dreaming about when the scene from yesterday appears in my head. “Maybe I was…”
I move over and Kyle joins me on the couch. We sit there and talk making jokes about Kyle’s brothers, Blake, Lachie and my older brother, Zale and sharing childhood stories, making us laugh so hard we cried.
I lie down and rest my head on his lap. I close my eyes, feeling Kyle fingers run through my hair and occasionally getting stuck in the small tangles in my hair.
“Geez Darci, your hair is looking like a jungle! At least I’m here to tame it.” I open my eyes to see him smiling down at me.
I raise my left eyebrow. “Oh yup, at least my hair can get tamed with a hair brush.” I reach up and playfully tug at a loss curl falling in front of his beautiful hazel eyes. “You need scissors to tame yours.”
“You’re just jealous, curls get the girls.” He runs his fingers through his hair casually, brushing his hair from his face.
“Um, I don’t know if you have noticed but attracting girls isn’t an aim for me and you don’t date, the only girl you dated just got married.”
His smirk falls into a pout, his hand covers my eyes. “No more talking, time to sleep.”
He doesn’t move his hand put I can tell he’s getting ready to sleep because his whole body relaxes underneath me. Sleep seems so good to me now.
