The ride to King's Cross was sort of quiet. I don't know about the others, but I enjoyed the small silence. The cars zoomed by us as we left them in the dust, so to speak. The ministry cars may look normal, but I didn't know of any car that can squeeze through gaps until now. When I start driving, I would want to have this kind of car so I wouldn't have to deal with traffic (everyone knows how bad New York traffic can be.) We arrived at King's Cross Station with 20 minutes to spare. The drivers opened our doors, got us trollies, unloaded our thing onto them, tipped their hats to Mr. Weasley and drove away. Mr. and Mrs. Weasley were acting rather odd as they walked all of us to the platform entrance, especially around Harry. Mr. Weasley was so close to Harry that they kept bumping elbows when we were walking. I looked around and saw platforms 9 and 10 approaching.

'Only 9 and 10?' I thought rather confused. I was walking next to Ginny at the time and tapped her on the shoulder lightly.

“Ginny?” I poked.

“Yes Jaden?” she answered back, now looking at me.

“Where's the sign for 9¾ ? I don't see it anywhere?” I said as I continued to look for the illusive platform.

She giggled. “It's alright Jaden. We're almost to the barrier.”

“Barrier?”

“Right then,” he said all of a sudden, glancing around. “Let's do this in pairs as there are so many of us. I'll go through first with Harry.”

Mr. Weasley pushed Harry's cart as they both moved casually towards the solid pillar between platforms 9 and 10. He seemed to looked interested in a train that had just arrived at platform 9. Mr. Weasley gave Harry a look as he leaned on the pillar; Harry did the same. I couldn't believe my eyes at what happened next. Harry and Mr. Weasley had disappeared straight through the pillar and no one walking by had seemed to notice a grown man and a boy vanish. I looked wide-eyed at everyone.

“H-How did they...Did they ju-just...Where d-did they... H-Huh?!” I stammered. All the Weasleys and Hermione chuckled at my reaction.

“They're fine dear,” Mrs. Weasley assured me. “Now then, Percy you're going next with Ginny!”

Percy obeyed and readied himself with Ginny. They both started to run at the barrier in the pillar and, just like the two before, disappeared into it. Ron and Hermione were after them and then Fred and George. The twins poked fun at their mother when she addressed them, saying that she got them mixed up again. I laughed when she scolded them to hurry up and they both gave me a wave before riding their trollies through the barrier.

“We're next dear,” Mrs. Weasley smiled at me. I nodded my head and positioned my troll straight at the pillar.

I pushed my trolly hard as I, too, ran at the solid looking object, but was surprised to feel a small rush of air as I passed through. It was dark at first, but then light and sound flooded my eyes and ears the next moment. I stared up at a magnificent scarlet steam engine in utter awe. White smoke came up from it and dispersed over the platform filled with witches and wizards; men, women, and children alike. In nice golden yellow letters at the front of the train, I read the words that made my heart flutter and swell with joy. Hogwarts Express. I felt some tears form in my eyes, but held them in as best as I could. My dream was finally coming true and if I wanted to turn back, it would be like hell if I did.

“Hey look everyone! Jaden made it!” George shouted as he and Fred came at me.

“We thought you'd die going through the barrier!” George teased putting an arm around my shoulder.

“W-Why's that?” I asked them.

“The barrier will sometimes eat first years if it thinks there are too many of them,” Fred said with a serious face.
