The first day of school had been fantastic for Isabella.

She had made a new best friend, her teacher was friendly, and her classes were easy to understand.

Around noon, Ms. Galloway brought her students to the cafeteria for lunch. Isabella and Aiden were with their classmates in the lunch lines, wondering what meals the school was serving. They found the meals they wanted and were quite happy with their choices.

After the students had chosen their food, they followed their teacher to a table reserved for their class. The two best friends sat next to each other to eat their lunches.

"How's your food?" Aiden asked after he took a bite of his pizza.

"It's so good," Isabella answered with her mouth full of macaroni, causing Aiden to laugh.

When the two kids finished their meals, they waited for Ms. Galloway and the rest of their classmates to finish so they could return to class as a group.

Suddenly, Isabella realized that she had to pee.

She looked at her teacher and saw she was almost done with her food. She needed to go to the bathroom and didn't want to wait for her class to finish. She was afraid she would accidentally wet herself if she didn't go right away.

The young girl turned to her best friend and tapped on his shoulder to get his attention. Aiden looked over to meet his friend's gaze.

"I have to go to the bathroom, but I'll be right back."

"Okay." Aiden nodded.

Isabella grinned and jumped off her seat, rushing over to her teacher. "Ms. Galloway, I need to use the bathroom."

The teacher stared at her student and asked, "Oh, do you want me to go with you?"

"No, I can go by myself," she replied. She could go anywhere by herself—she was a big girl, after all.

Her teacher hesitated, unsure about letting Isabella go to the bathroom by herself but shook it off. "Okay. After you finish, come right back so we can go to the classroom."

"Okay, I will," Isabella said before running out of the cafeteria and to the restroom, making it to a stall to do her business.

After she finished, she walked out of the stall and went to the sink to wash her hands. She moved to the counter, grabbed a couple of paper towels to dry her hands, and then threw the used towels in the trash bin.

Isabella started on her way back to the cafeteria, but two older boys walked by and stopped in front of her as she exited the bathroom. One boy was wearing denim jeans with a green polo shirt, while the other boy had on an orange racecar t-shirt with khaki shorts.

"Hey, little girl," the boy said in the green shirt.

"Hello." She waved.

"Where are you going?" he asked her.
