BOOM!

The door to Lilia's quarters swung open. The room started shaking as whoever it was entered. Riddle grabbed the handle of the cup to steady himself. He peered around the edge and saw another giant, one much taller than both Silver and Lilia, had entered the room. He had light, mint green hair and thin eyes like that of a crocodile. He wore a gray shirt with short sleeves, two leather belts wrapped around his waist with large brown pouches on each side, and long black pants that were stuffed in tall black boots. He wore a scowl over his face as he scanned the area. Riddle noticed a major difference between the two; both lived in the palace, but they each held a different air of confidence.

"Silver, I have been CALLING your name for the past 10 minutes! WHERE have you been?!" Sebek thundered.

"N-no where," Silver stammered. He backed away and Sebek grabbed his arm.

"Nonsense! Were you out picking flowers again?! Grow up!" Riddle had to cover his ears because of the sheer volume of Sebek's voice.

"Yes. I'm sorry, I just-"

"Don't apologize! Honestly, how are you EVER going to become a noble knight if you keep stopping to pick FLOWERS?! You're not a child anymore!"

Riddle ducked and covered his ears. He wanted to object. Though he never stopped to pick flowers himself, he believed there was nothing wrong with doing childish things before you become an adult.

If I object, he will surely capture me... I can't let that happen.

"Sebek!"

Lilia's voice called over the bickering pair. He held a small plate in his hands filled with fruits, cheese, nuts and crackers.

"Oh, Lilia-sama! I didn't know you were there. How may I assist you?" Sebek asked.

"Please, be a dear and deliver the rest of the baked good to our prince. I left them on the counter. Then when you're finished, you can eat some muffins yourself. Ok?"

"Yes, Lilia-sama! Leave it to me!" Sebek announced. He shot a glare at Silver, then quickly left. Silver breathed a sigh of relief as Lilia shut and locked the door.

"Is the human alright? Where did it go?"

Silver moved the pen cup aside to see a shaking Riddle holding his hands over his ears. "Uh, Father? What seems to be the matter with him?"

"Let's have a look," Lilia said, bending down. "Why, he's frightened! Grumpy old Sebek scared the life out of him. Are you alright, human?"

Riddle removed his hands from over his ears and turned. Lilia and Silver were staring at him with worried eyes. Riddle got up and brushed off his pants. "T-thank you for covering me, you two."

"No need to thank us! I brought food to share. Let's eat, shall we?" Lilia placed the plate down and pulled up an extra chair for Silver. He beckoned Riddle to come forward and patted the table for him to sit down.

"Now, what do you like to eat?"

"Oh, I couldn't. Mother would scold me for eating foods with too many fats and oils..."

"Your mother? She isn't here now, is she?" Lilia asked. "Eat up, boy. You'll enjoy this. Trust me."

"O-oh, Father? May I feed him?"

"Certainly, Silver. Be gentle."

Silver grabbed a small piece of cheese, pinched it between two fingers, and placed it in front of Riddle.

"Here you are... friend."

"Thank you kindly, Silver," Riddle replied. He began to eat the cheese as Lilia cleared his throat.

"You say you hail from the planet Earth, and that your mother lives with you... why have you come here, boy?"

Riddle looked up. "I came to find out more about your world. You see, mother is incredibly strict and does not ever allow me to venture further from our own house. So I broke her rules and left... she will surely punish me severely should I return."

"You will in fact have to return," Lilia said. "I'm afraid we cannot allow our master to find you. He is a fearsome prince who will stop at nothing for his loved ones' protection."

"Silver told me... Well, it was worth a try. I should... return to Earth now."

"Oh, nonsense! You've only just gotten here. Besides, our master barely leaves the palace. Silver, here's what I want you to do; go to the royal gardens and take a stroll with the boy."

"How come, Father?"

"Because I think building a bond between the two of you would be highly beneficial. Silver, you need a good friend. I believe the human-"

"Sorry, sir. My name is Riddle, not human."

"Right. Riddle here would be a good friend indeed. A sheltered boy and a boy who roams around a palace in his free time... go on, you two. I shall take watch in case Sebek comes back."

"Are you sure? I don't wish to be a bother..." Riddle said.

"Oh, phooey! You're not a bother at all; in fact, you're the most interesting thing to happen to this place in the past 10 years! Be careful, you two. And don't forget; just be yourselves. If you're honest, you'll like each just for that. Trust me."

Riddle remembered that Trey had told him the same thing. Just be myself, huh...

Silver nodded. "Come, Riddle. Let's go take a walk together."

"A walk? You're forgetting; if we went on a walk you might accidentally step on me! Is there any way we can go together without that risk?"

Silver held out his hand to the boy. "I can carry you, if you'd like."

"Am I not heavy?" Riddle asked.

"Not at all. It's like... holding a flower and an acorn." Riddle hesitated for a moment, then looked into Silver's kind eyes.

His eyes... they're just like the ones in my dream... could he be the one who reached out to me?

Riddle stepped into Silver's hands, then held onto his finger as the giant lifted him to his shoulder. Riddle sat down on Silver's shoulder.

"How adorable..." Lilia mused. "Now, get along you two!"
