Credit for the shop setup goes to Lancelot1864. I shamelessly stole the idea from him (with permission)!

They walked to Aberforth's shop, a place they used to go to all the time when they were little.

The cinnamon roll shop was a small, cozy little establishment nestled in a quiet corner of the bustling city. It was a place of warmth and comfort, with the inviting aroma of freshly baked cinnamon rolls wafting through the air.

The storefront was painted a cheerful shade of yellow, and the windows were adorned with colorful stickers and signs advertising the various flavors of cinnamon rolls available. A small sign above the door read "Aberforth's Cinnamon Rolls" in bold, handwritten letters.

As Arthur and Tessia stepped inside, they were greeted by the sight of a long counter stocked with trays of freshly baked cinnamon rolls, glistening with sweet icing and fragrant spices. Behind the counter stood the friendly owner, a tall, slender man with piercing green eyes and a warm smile. He wore a white apron over his clothes, and his hands were dusted with flour as he worked.

They noticed a group of friends chatting and laughing over their rolls, and a lone dwarven traveler reading a book and sipping on a mug of tea. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and they couldn't help but feel at home.

To the left of the counter was a small seating area, with a handful of tables and chairs where customers could sit and enjoy their treats. The walls were adorned with colorful paintings and posters, and the air was filled with the sound of chatter and laughter.

When they entered the humble shop, Aberforth welcomed them in with a bright smile on his face.

"Ah hello, Princess! Hello Mr. Hero! Welcome in!" Aberforth greeted them as they approached the counter.

Arthur went up to the old elf and gave him a big hug. "Hello, Aberforth. Long time no see! Where is Lena? Is she not in today?"

Aberoth smiled excitedly as if he were a toddler bursting to tell everyone something. "Lena is getting married! She got engaged to this fine young chap from a nice family! The two of them really love each other, so I am so happy for them."

Tessia squealed at the happy news. "Oh, congratulations! That is amazing news!" Arthur nodded in response before taking the elf in another warm hug of congratulations.

Aberforth smiled gently. "Thank you, both of you. Now go, sit down. I'll bring out the usual for the two of you when it's ready."

Arthur spoke up and said, "Wait, I didn't pay yet!"

With a twinkle in his eyes, Aberoth continued, "On the house! Since you guys are finally on a date together, I figured I'd give it to you for free!"

Arthur choked on some saliva in response. He glared at Aberoth. "We're not on a date!"

Aberforth didn't say anything, only raised his eyebrows and looked at him with an expressive face that screamed: Then you're an idiot.

Tessia shook her head slightly, ruefully. She looked up to see Aberforth's sympathetic eyes on her and she grinned back at him. Nice try, but thanks anyway, her eyes said.

Aberforth laughed as Arthur turned a violent shade of red. After some insisting, Arthur finally gave in to the old elf, and Tessia and he sat in their favorite spot in the shop.

Finally, their order was ready, and the owner placed a pair of steaming hot cinnamon rolls in front of them, drizzled with thick, creamy icing. Arthur took a bite, savoring the warm, gooey center and the fragrant spices. He looked up to see Tessia moving slightly from side to side, her eyes closed in bliss as her ears flopped in ecstasy. He felt a smile creep on his face at the adorable sight in front of him.

It was so funny to him how when he was with her, he found himself enjoying the present and dreaming about the future instead of focusing so intently on his failures in the past or the guilt of surviving that he felt so deeply.

He knew he needed to find a way to handle the pain in his heart in order to move on in the way he knew that everyone that cared for him wanted him to. But that would be a task for future Arthur to solve, he thought to himself. Besides, he knew just who to go to for advice on the matter. He took another giant bite of the gooey blissful food in front of him, enjoying the time he spent with his childhood friend.
