Chapter 3 - Shadow.

You and Shadow finally made it toward the nurse's office.
"Head in, brat," Shadow didn't even want to look at you.
"Shadow, I know we just met, did I do something," you rubbed your arm.
He glared at you, wide eyed. He stayed silent for a bit, probably thinking. All you could hear was the faint noises of the cafeteria. "No," he simply responded. You got mad at his simple response, this whole time you were barking about absolutely nothing. "Listen...(A/T), I guess I'm not too good around...new people," He answered again.
"Alright," you simply answered back, going into the nurse's office.
He stood outside, waiting. You instantly came back out.
"Shadow, can you come in, the nurse isn't here," you scratched the back of your neck.
"Yeah, you just want me to come in, Y/N I'm not stupid...I've been around for fift- I've been around a long time," Shadow told you.
"Fifty years? You expect me to believe you've been around for five decades," you crossed your arms, "Well anyways, you are a bit stupid," you rolled your eyes. Shadow then grabbed you by your collar, nearly ripping your jacket off.
"Watch. Your. Mouth. (A/T)." Shadow then aggressively let go, making you fall back.
"I-I'm sorry," you nearly teared up, "Maybe...I'll just call my dad to pick me up," you ran off and away from Shadow.

"Y/N- wait," but he already saw that you were gone. He just crossed his arms and dashed back to the cafeteria.
"Where is Y/N..." Sonic looked at Shadow in the eyes.
"Shes...gone," Shadow responded.
"What?! Where'd she go?!" Sonic yelled.
"She went home, her dad came to get her," Shadow knew he was lying, but he didn't want to make it obvious he was.
"Alright," Sonic sighed.

(TIME SKIP - SCHOOL IN SESSION)

You were walking outside, you didn't ask your dad to come and get you, even though you had a serious headache, but you were also on school grounds so you couldn't do anything too stupid, so you just laid by a tree, chilling. You then sensed someone in your presence. You tried to act like you didn't know they were there but they were obviously looking at you. You slowly opened your eyes and looked forward. Then you screamed. Luckily it was just Shadow.
"Shut up, idiot." Shadow whisper screamed.
"I-I...you aren't supposed to be here," you told him.
"You lied to me," Shadow stepped closer to you. You crawled back some, afraid.
"Lied? N-no," Shadow growled.
"Why aren't you at home, Y/N," Shadow asked.
"It's not your damn business," you grabbed your back pack and started walking off, until someone grabbed your arm. You knew who it was, but you didn't turn back.
"Y/N, don't be so tough, just an hour ago you were scared of me, I don't advise you to get so...bold," Shadow squeezed your arm.
"I'll...tell Sonic," You whimpered.
"Oh really," Shadow snatched you and pulled you closer to him.
"Let me go, Shadow," you said in a serious tone. He slowly let you go, sighing out.
"Sorry," Shadow thought for a minute, "I guess we did get off the wrong...Bat wing," shadow chuckled, hoping you'd laugh, you almost did, but you held it in, knowing you were putting on a mean girl act. "Never mind, you're right, it wasn't funny," Shadow shook his head. Stared at him silently, he looked as if he was embarrassed, maybe even flustered. 'Was it something I did? Said?' You nodded your head in agreement. "It wasn't," you responded.
"Y/N, for Rouges sake, and yours...maybe," he started to hesitate, he really didnt want to continue at all. "We should..." he paused again.
"Date?" you asked, stupidly.
"Y/N are fucking insane..." Shadow stared inti your (E/C) eyes, he covered his dark muzzle, covered in light pink blush. "No," you shrugged, "I mean it sounded like you were going to say that," you put your hands on your hips and shadow crossed his arms. Shadow blushed even harder, you knew this was happening but you definitely weren't trying to flirt, but seeing him blush made you blush as well, making it a really awkward moment. You both made eye contact, blushing like dorks, doing your nervous habits, and even trying to break eye contact.
"Anyways, no...I just thought we should be...friends," Shadow broke the silence. You finally took a deep breath and stopped blushing.
"Friends," you said, under your breath.
"Sure," you shrugged. You held your hand out for him to shake. He slowly held his hand out and shook it. "Finally, we're cool," you giggled. Shadow nodded, you were about to start walking off before Shadow stopped you one last time.
"Y/N," Shadow stopped you.
"Yeah?" You asked.
"I think you should...go back to class..." Shadow suggested. You nodded but then disagreed.
"You're right, but I do have a headache, honesty, I think I should go home," You said.
"I can kill time, let me run you there," Shadow said, walking closer.
"Run? oh no, running isnt my thing," you said.
"Dont worry, I'll be the one running," Shadow picked you up and started speeding off. You were screaming at the top of your lungs at how fast you were going.

After barely a while Shadow made it to your home, after a long series of directions. He let you down and patted your shoulder.
"Shadow, thanks for...running me," You smiled.
"Its whatever...brat, anyways I have to get going, we have the same classes for the rest of the day, so I'll back you up," Shadow put a warm smile on his muzzle.
"Thank you, Shadow," you returned the smile.
"See you, Y/N, stay safe," Shadow then sped off back to the school.

You were over the happy limit, you were screaming with joy when he left, you were so happy you and Shadow got along, in the same day.
