Chp. 16

"Davinity. Baby come on so I can do your hair."

It's been a several weeks since Yasmin took in Davinity. She is such a sweetheart and loves to dance. Sometimes she becomes shy when Yasmin catches her dancing. There has been a big adjustment with raising two kids, working, and trying to have a relationship. Kia and Chris have been a huge help without question. Chris loves to run around with them playing hide and seek. Zachary says he understand why Yasmin took in her little cousin after she explained everything.

"Davinity!" Yasmin yelled out once more.

Little feet started to sound after the second call. Kia appeared in the doorway with her. "Sorry, we were waiting for Agent OSO to go off." Kia apologized.

Davinity actually loved get her hair done and Yasmin has been learning more styles to do in her hair because she never had to do much with JuneBug's hair.

"Have you talked to August lately?" Kia asked.

Yasmin had to really think about it. She had not talked to him since Jameson birthday and even then it was just through text.

"No- why?" Yasmin raised an eyebrow. She placed Davinity head under the running water.

She let out a small sigh. "I just asked because Chris said this is around the time that his brother died and he been M.I.A."

"Oh that's right! I have to call him to check on him plus it has been a while."

She rung the doorbell twice and patiently waited. A minute or two went by and she rung it again. This time second went pass and the door opened.

"Hey baby." She leaned in for a kiss but he dodge it and it landed on his cheek. Yas was confused.

"Hey. I didn't know you were coming by now. I thought you had to run an errand." Zach said and stepped aside for her to walk in.

She kicked off her shoes and sat on the couch. "No I did but it didn't take as long as I thought it would. Kia took the kids to the zoo so that we could spend time together. Because I know this has been a big change with me raising another child."

"Yeah so about that." He let out a deep sigh. "I have been thinking and I don't know if dating someone with two kids is something that I am ready for right now. I like you. I really do but it's just that I don't think there will be enough time for me to be a priority for you. You are a great woman and if circumstance were different then these words wouldn't be coming out my mouth. I know this is sudden after I said I was cool with it but I did not want to lie to you or myself. I hope that you can understand." Zach finished his rant.

"Well, I feel stupid. It was a wild thought for me to think that you would be completely okay with that. Wow! I just was not expecting that but I guess I can only respect that you told me." Yasmin slowly go up to gather her belongs.

"I hope that we can be friends still." He gave a weak smile.

"As much as I would to say of course, I am not because we both know when I leave we will never speak again... 9 times out of 10." She said slipping back into her shoes and leaving.

Once she drove off, she took out her phone to FaceTime Kia. "Hey. We just broke up."

"Who!? You and Zachary? Girl, I'm sorry. Did he say why?"

"He said that he couldn't handle being with someone that had two children. And said if circumstances were different then we wouldn't be breaking up. I'm hurt a little but I'm glad we wasn't too far in. It's only been like 2 months."
