[2019]

Watching him, I could feel flickers of magic here and there but it never lasted anything but a few seconds. Sighing, I reached out to him and tapped his shoulder. It's been months now, and I've developed feelings for him. Last time I did that it didn't end well, when he turned around I knew I had to tell him.

"Want to know a secret?" I asked, his eyes lit up, and a gentle smile spread on my face.

"Good, I'll drive!" We both headed to our own tasks in this job we have. When my shift ended I went and grabbed some wings from Max's Rustic Pizza, I rarely got pizza from them. But the wings are to die for, and I don't eat meat that much, out of some weird phobia I have.

Driving back I saw him waiting for me in front of the store, and when he saw me pull up he rushed to get in.

"You really want to know the secret, huh? Just dying to know," I stated he only nodded, I put my hand on his seat and turned around to look behind the car, "Okay, but please remember your the first I've told!" He ate the wings, as I drove us to Henry's house. Once I parked, we both went out, he went for the front door and I went to the garage door.

"Edith?" He stressed out my name, I hollered to him to get here. I already opened the door when he reached the side.

"Our trip isn't over yet," I walked toward something covered, "you've ridden a Trike yet?" I pulled off the blanket that was covering my ride, Dad gave it to me as a gift. I heard Finn audibly gasp, I grabbed two helmets and put one on and gave him the other. He closed and locked the door as he hopped over.

"Why? Is this the secret?" He asked. I shook my head and got on it, he sat behind me and wrapped his arms around me causing me shiver. I used magic to open the big door as I started the Trike. Driving us to the end of the driveway, I closed the door. And we went off to my real home. I'll do the paperwork later, I just need to tell him. I could hear his laughter as we went down the road, it only seemed to stop when he realized where we were going.

"Edi-ith! Um-Isn't this one of those rich neighborhoods?" He voiced.

"Yup!" I responded, the gate opened up in response to my core, Dad had put that in so it'll be a lot easier to get in.

I drove up the driveway, and parked it. I took off my helmet and got off, "Hey, I'm going to change into something I'm more comfortable in." He nodded, and did the same. I took out the key and unlocked the door, I looked back at him.

He had a starry look, I get it after all- that was my first reaction when Dad told me this is the house we're staying in.

I climbed up the stairs and he followed, I paused when I felt Rigel's core. "

Finn, please wait for me here," I said as I went inside, "Rigel! Why are you here? You can't just pop in out of nowhere after disappearing for months!" Rigel was toying with my plants that I recently hung up. He looked at me with those pitch black eyes, he sighed.

"A boy? And feelings, Edith~", His voice echoed, "What if this one is like that girl? What-" I put my hand out, and pointed it at him.

"This one isn't like that girl, only wantin' me to have control over. This one will be fascinated by magic!" I motioned him to go away and he did, I went to my closet and got out a nightgown-dress along with a red and black checkered wool jacket that was low cut. I quickly changed and put on my jewelry, putting on my boots. I ran to the door and opened it.

"A dress? That's something you're comfortable with? I've never-" I nodded, not letting him finish his sentence. I grabbed his wrist and pulled him down the stairs, this is the most time I've just grabbed him, usually I'd ask but I need to tell him. After we got outside I paused.

"Finn, can I carry you? It'll be faster, but I want to know if you're okay with it, so?" I ranted, he just gave me a smile and put his arm up. I grabbed him and put him over my shoulder and began to run. His laughter was contagious, the forest path seemed to take only three minutes. I put him down when we got to the front porch.

"So you live in a rich neighborhood, and have a small house to yourself?" He was spinning around. I motioned to him to get inside, and when he did he saw the bunches of candles. On the table, windowsills and on the floor.

"Now, I tell you the secret," I was nervous, "This will seem ridiculous but I'm a Shifter, moreover to put it in simpler terms I'm a werewolf. We just don't use that term." He blinked several times, sighing. I walked over to the table of candles and lit it.

He still stared blankly so I lit up all the candles. "Magic is real, there's Vampires, other types of shifter, and along with the Elementals." I said, he saw the nervousness on my face and just nodded. I plucked a candle from the floor and put it on my palm, I focused my attention on it and it began to melt.

"Believe me now? I turned on all the candles all at once, melted another in my palm, soo?" I questioned him. I saw his wheels turning in his head. I peeled off the wax, and it came out smoothly. I gently grabbed him by his shoulders and shook him.

"I can't shift for you! The reason why! It's because it's a! Intimate! Thing! For! US!" My voice was rising as I continued on.

I let go of him, "Okay! I was going to ask that, but why is it?" He asked, and I just shrugged.

"Maybe because it's showing a vulnerable part of us?" In a sarcastic tone I responded with. Looking around, I took out my phone and opened an image that Sam sent to me. And shoved it in his hand, his eyes widened.

"Is this you shifted? Because you look-", he began but someone interrupted him, "Really Edith? Telling him about magic, and not doing the paperwork? How devious of you!" A voice echoed in the room.

I groaned, "Finn meet my demon, Rigel, he feeds off any negative emotions and I am a buffet." I told him in the response of the disembodied voice.

"Oh, demons? Like in biblical times? Or magical?" He questioned. I sat us down on a place where wax hasn't covered yet and explained the ins and outs of the hidden world.

I told him about D.U.M.P and D.A.M.N and along with the stupid syndrome I have. I showed him how I truly looked without illusionary magic, letting him trace the scars that I have. Yup, I was definitely in love with this boy.

Rigel gave me a side eye and I just glared at him. He rolled his eyes in return, and I continued to explain Magic to him.

Time has passed and it was sunset, I felt Dad's core enter the domain. Sighing I told him and he nodded that it was about time to leave. Rigel carried Finn overhead and I ran back.

Saying that I forgot to buy something and I'll be back. I dropped off Finn, and got myself some more candles.
