AJ's POV
After putting Tyler's few things away, we had walked back to Bon's house. I grabbed the kids hands, and soon we were off to The Grill.
"Can I have a bacon cheeseburger?" He asked, while we were walking.
"You can have whatever you want, even a milkshake too if you want." That got squeals of excitement from both of them.
A few minutes later The Mystic Grill appeared, we soon walked in to grab a booth. After finding a decent booth, I placed the menus from the waiter in front of the children, telling them to get what they wanted. Eventually the waiter came back to ask us what we wanted, with the kids going first.
"I would like some mozzarella sticks, a bunch too please..." Bonnie loved those things, can't blame her they're good.
The waiter looking at me to confirm. I picked up my wallet to let him know that I would be fine.
"...and can I get enough red sauce for them too, please. I would also like a large sprite." She said, seemingly finished with her order.
"I want a bacon cheeseburger with everything, but hots and tomato. I also would like a vanilla milkshake." Tyler had had his heart set on this since we left Bonnie's house.
"Ohh. Brother can I get a milkshake too?" Bonnie begged.
"Yeah, sure. Tyler you can still get the milkshake, but would you like anything else to drink?" I let him know because I was getting both a drink and milkshake.
"I would like some sweet tea..." He wasn't expecting that, I guess.
"A vanilla shake for me too." Bonnie added, remembering I said they could earlier.
"I would like a steak, biggest piece you have, with some mashed potatoes with gravy, and some baked macaroni. A cookie and cream milkshake, and sprite as well. Can I get some A1 steak sauce too?" I said to the waiter, finished with my order.
They said sure to the steak sauce, repeating the whole order back correctly to us, finally going back to the kitchen to put our order in.
We all talked some more to ease Tyler, especially after all that he's had been through today. Bonnie had been side eyeing me the hell out of me throughout half of it. I know she wants to know exactly what the hell she did today, and she has every right to know. I just wish she had the people who should've told her, tell her.
Now I look like I'm the liar, in some sense, when it's really not like that, well, not exactly anyway.
"Your mozzarella sticks, and your..." All of our food had arrived after about 30 minutes, and that stopped all conversations as we all began to dig in.
"Mommy, why?" That voice.
"I'm so sorry, baby. I promise I won't be too long."
"You said that last week! Mommy, please!"
"Caroline! How dare you ask me to put the protection of the town on hold! I will be back. Just wait here, I won't be too long." She said to the little girl who started to bawl the moment she fully walked out.
"Is that Caroline?" Tyler asked, concern wrapped around him.
I knew it.
"I'm going to bring her over here." Bonnie said before she brought the crying little Forbes back to our booth.
Tyler already being overwhelmed with today, still tried to comfort Caroline, who was still an emotional mess.
"....t-thanks Bonnie a-and Tyler?"
