AJ's POV

Arriving at The Donovan's residence, I saw Zahra on the porch massaging her temple.

"They're giving you trouble?" I joked seeing her.

"My sister is more of a kid person than I am, is all I'll say. The oldest is hardheaded as hell, and that boy is so closed off it's ridiculous. I almost thought he was mute." She said, pinching her nose.

Well that's to be expected when you don't have any parental figures around. This one will not be easy, huh?

"Well, let's hope I can help them change that." I sighed.

"I'll be praying for you." She said before getting up to walk inside with me.

Inside I could smell something delicious, raising a brow at Zahra, she sighs even harder.

"When we introduced ourselves, and how we knew about them, they grilled our asses hard. We said that Bonnie's brother sent us. They had seen you walking around with the kids though, so they did believe that part of you wanting to check up on them was real, since they heard about what you done for Tyler and Caroline. The pair have been wanting to play with their friends, but their mother, before she left for a trip, told them they couldn't go outside other than for school or sport practice.

I wanted to give them funds and watch them from close by, but Amina wanted to stay here and take care of them instead of being a stalker, or so she says."

The sisters were informed of my real identity, because I couldn't see another way for the kids to believe them if they didn't. They've been spelled to secrecy.

"Well they don't trust easily. Don't know if I should be happy they don't or not......that piece of shit excuse of a mother." I spat out. These parents are the real fucking monsters here.

Clearing my head of murderous thoughts, I sniffed the air again, exhaling in content from the glorious food.

Walking into the dining room I saw Matt eating, with Vicki in the kitchen with Amina, who was still cooking.

"Oh, hello Base." Her voice had the slightest accent since English wasn't her first language. You wouldn't catch it until she said certain words, like pickles or strawberries.

"Hey Minnie, I was stopping by to see how these two were doing."

"Well, I am traumatized—"

"He wasn't talking to you, Grinch!" Amina suddenly snapped at Zahra, in Moroccan Arabic.

"He said "to see how these two are doing" I and told him!" Zahra sassily said back to her sister, who gave her a fierce glare.

They didn't know this, but after a few weeks of being here, I use a spell to know any and all universal languages. It was super useful.

I could also hear Matthew chuckling at them from the dining room, repeating the word grinch in the sister's language. Which got Zahra to glare harder at her sister for teaching him the word, with Amina smirking evilly right back at her.

I just shook my head at the two, then went to introduce myself to Matthew and Victoria.

The pair eyed me before asking why I cared about them so much.

"I grew up around adults that didn't look out for me as they should have. They didn't give me affection or spend any time with me. Sometime I didn't even eat."

When I said that the siblings looked anywhere but at me. I figured that they were embarrassed but I didn't mean for them to feel that way at all.

"I just wanted you to know that not all adults are crap, believe it or not people actually cherish their young. I know you've noticed Tyler and Caroline with me a lot. That's because they're kinda living with me now. They have their own problems at home too, you're not alone in what you're experiencing. It may be different from their experiences, but it's still something involving their parents. I've been able to help them by giving them a home, a place to just be a kid, and grow up with love and affection around them, while providing them with their needs and wants."
