ap·prov·al - /əˈpro͞ov(ə)l/ - the belief that someone or something is good or acceptable

(TW - sensitive content about self-image)

Tears clouded her vision as she scurried to her room,

ideas plaguing her mind

as she ran her hands along her figure with gloom,

memorizing the imperfections she despised.

From here on,

every choice she made would be calculated

leaving no time to mourn,

as she'd only look back when her plan was completed.

Hours of working out,

counting calories

excuses as to why she couldn't go out,

her plan turning into realities.

No more will she search for a fairytale,

but instead find approval through the number on the scale.
