7th grade
Midoriya had always held a grudge on you after that, and he wasn't sure why. He didn't know that you had killed someone but that wasn't the reason he began to...hate...you. After he had gone home that day—the day he would never forget, he had just sulked. He had no reason to be really mad at you, but he was and he was infuriated. Was it because you all of a sudden gotten a quirk and he never did? After you had told him you had one, he didn't even stay to hear it out, he had just...left. Heck, there was no reason you even needed to explain, as your best friend he should have been happy and congratulated you, but he didn't. He had convinced himself that you were bad news and he shouldn't stay around you any longer.
"Oi Deku, what happened to your little girlfriend? Did she ditch you after she got a quirk? Heh, what did I tell you. Powerful people shouldn't have to stay around the weak."
As Bakugo's words rang around his head, he finally convinced himself that since you had a quirk, you would bully him too. You would pity him and find him weak, just like Bakugo. You would tell him he could never be a hero, that the promise the two of you made was stupid, and then you'd ditch him. So, instead, he ditched you first.
After you had left, Bakugo's bullying had gotten worse. He would decide to beat him and this time, he didn't have you there, responding to Bakugo with your snarky comments and standing in front of him to protect him. He was officially alone now.
As Midoriya was packing up, placing all the papers and books that were knocked out by the boy Midoriya called 'Kacchan', he noticed one thing he hadn't picked up yet. He flinched and stared wide-eyed at the object that made a slight clank against the floor.
The key chain.
He stood there frozen. He couldn't decide whether or not to pick it up or just leave it there. After a debate he had with himself, he decided to pick it up and put it in his bag again. Why waste good All Might merch, right? It's not like you kept it anyway,
Now you, after you had moved life had gotten worse, just as Midoriya's had. You were constantly monitored, you had a therapist constantly 3 times a week, if not more, and your training was relentless. After the incident with your quirk, your dad had gotten in a lot of trouble, so he decided he could get someone to train you to control your quirk and he got what he thought would be best. A Trainer that had no mercy, whatsoever. Everyday, you would train for at least an hour if not more. You were homeschooled, since they also thought it would be best that way, but it had also worsened your state. No friends, no real people to talk to, no Izuku Midoriya. The depression after he left hit you hard. Yeah, you missed his rants and fanboy-ing over the number one hero. You didn't get shown any merch anymore or any new videos that came out of his new fights unless you watched them yourself. Was he watching the video at the same time as you were? Whenever you got a wave of emotion of any kind, your hand immediately went to your neck, to fiddle with the half of heart. You had no idea why you kept it, since you figured Midoriya threw it away after the last visit with you. Why was it so hard without him? Your grandparents tried their best, they really did, but they could only do so much. Schoolwork, train, eat, sleep. It was your everyday rotation. Nothing but that. Fighting became a major stress reliever so in spare time you would learn new moves that could be used in a fight. You were still gonna be a hero and this was one way to start. With or without Midoriya you wanted to help people.
"Okay, Y/n, let's see how much control you have over your quirk. Touch me, without killing me."
You dreaded when you did this. He always had you focus on small animals, bless their hearts to those who have been lost. You hated experimenting on the animals but you were forced to. You walked up to your trainer, placing your full hand around his arm. You could control it slightly, but if he didn't take his arm away fast enough before his soul was taken, he would die.
"Come on Y/n, focus and stay calm."
You listened and did as you were told. After a few seconds, he snatched his arm away. A sigh left his lips as he held his head in his hands.
"You still don't have control over people. I guess we can start on bigger animals."
"No! I dont want to keep killing them."
You rarely spoke but usually, when you did, it was some kind of snarky or sarcastic comment.
"It's either that, or we keep you chained up forever. Do you really want that to happen?"
He questioned, furrowing his eyebrows and looking down at you. You kept quiet and looked away, breaking eye contact immediately.
"Do something else. I refuse to use my stupid quirk on defenseless animals. I'll just keep trying on you."
It was his turn to stay quiet. Your comment seemed full of anger. Yes, he could just pull away before he feels like he's starting to slip, but he didn't want to take the chance. In his eyes, all you were was a murderer. You killed someone, so now you need to be trained and controlled.
"Fine. But if we don't see progress, we're using the animals."
You sucked on your teeth, leaving you response as a 'tch' and that's it.
Your training ended up lasting way longer than an hour, with the sun already set. Cuffs were placed around your wrist as your guards dragged you back into the house. They followed you almost everywhere. You of course had privacy in your room and bathroom, but even then you had to have them standing outside the room. You never tried to escape so you had some freedom, but it was slim.
Walking into the house, you were greeted by your grandmother.
"Hello dear, how about you come eat?"
"Thank you, grams, I'm really hungry."
The guards followed but were stopped by your grandfather.
"Would you leave her alone for five seconds?! Shes not gonna harm us! She has those damn cuffs on! Leave her be!"
He swung around his cane, as the guards backed up.
"Haha it's okay gramps. I'm fine."
He glanced at you, just to make sure you looked okay and sighed.
"Okay but if you ever want a break from those men you tell me! Your ol' grandpa got them!"
He whispered in your ear, leading to a giggle from you. You loved your grandparents dearly. They were from the side of your moms so you knew where your mothers personality came from.
After you ate, you ended up just doing you normal nighttime routine and laid in bed. How much longer would this same thing be going on? You had a goal already, to join U.A. That only your grandparent knew about but what about now? Guess just training would do. Then you would have a better chance at getting in. Rolling over on your side, your eyes got heavy, leading you into a heavy sleep. Same thing tomorrow.
