Someone's following me.
I don't know who, or why...but it's creepy. Every time I turn to look behind me, nothing's there. Although sometimes I think I see a glimpse of a dark figure, I'm probably just paranoid by this point. I am safe at the Maw, right? Actually, looking back, I'm really not.
I really should have thought this through when I went to the Maw. This place seems to be anything but safe. Tall creatures lurking around every corner, ready to turn me into food for the guests. Not only that, but if Six is anywhere nearby, I might not survive another night here.
I shake my head. The feeling of someone watching me has dissipated by this point. I've just come to try to ignore it by this point. If, whatever it is, wants me dead, it would have done it by now.
Currently, I am sitting in a cafeteria with another kid who's sitting at a table with a pitiful amount of food. Luckily, he doesn't seem hostile...just quiet. He hasn't spoken much since I've arrived here. Speaking of, I came here to get food. I head over to the corner of the room to find what I want. There is no lunch line here, as if that would be way too much to ask for.
I open the lid of a box nearby, and inside is a bunch of bread. Not only is that the only piece of food here, it's also stale. Fantastic. I put the lid back down, disappointed. I suppose it's a good thing I wasn't hungry, as I was just getting food for my journey out of here.
Yes, I am trying to leave. Not the Maw, but the prison. This ship is really quite strange. Why is there a prison here? Why does it specifically target children? Well, aside from that, I was put in there after this creature with long arms snatched me and put me in a bed somewhere. Even if there was other kids sleeping in similar beds nearby, I knew I had to leave.
So here I am now, debating whether I should just take the stale bread anyway. Just as I lift the lid of the bread box back up, I hear the other kid stand up suddenly. I turn my head to where he was looking, and I see a window. Well, window is putting it nicely. It's more like prison bars.
On the other side of the bars was someone wearing...yellow. They were hunched over, as if in pain. Is it another kid? I hear their stomach growl in hunger, but I don't make any moves to give them food. I would know that yellow jacket from anywhere.
The kid inside the cafeteria with me decides to give that...thing some of his food. He tosses it through the bars and it lands over to her side. Almost immediately after she notices the food tossed to her, she devours it as if she hadn't eaten in weeks.
I start backing up, trying to make my way to the exit of the cafeteria. Once I make it to the door, I start trying to push it open. Was it always this heavy?
Just as the door finally opens, the feeling of someone watching me came back. And I knew who it was this time. I dared to risk a glance, and my instinct was right. There, on the other side of the prison bars, stood Six. Her intense gaze made me quite uncomfortable. However, what surprised me the most wasn't Six, but the figure beside her.
I've seen it before. It was almost an entire replica of Six, but engulfed in shadow. I never thought I would see Shadow Six again...or even Six for that matter. Once I blinked, however, Shadow Six vanished. As if they were never there.
I finally turn my head back to the door that is now opened. I rush out of there, and I arrive into a room with practically nothing in it beside a dresser against a wall. I didn't look inside, as I was too paranoid about Six somehow squeezing through the bars and finding me in here.
Above the dressers was a vent in the wall, just narrow enough so I could crawl through. I jump onto the dressers and climb up to the vent. Despite it being rather dark, I make my way forward. I don't dare look back.
Why did she have to be here? She must have followed me! And here I thought I would be safe here. Oh, how naive I was. To think I would be safe anywhere nowadays.
I keep pushing forward, ignoring the cobwebs brushing against me.
