Y/N's POV

After some time, me and Seven have made a bunch more little Nome friends! There's a lot more of these little guys than I first thought. I wonder where they came from? I look at one of the Nome's in my arms with a curious expression on my face. Sometimes they remind me of actual people...one of them was even drawing with some crayons earlier.

But they can't be humans, right? Besides having two feet and two arms, they don't strike me as...human. I shake my head of these thoughts. There's no point in wondering over something I'll never find the answer to.

"Y-you can let go now, you know.."

Seven's voice snaps me out of my thoughts, and I realize the Nome in my arms wants to get out. "Oh, sorry little guy" I whisper to it as I let it go free.

Currently, we have arrived back at the blazing hot furnace. Me and Seven decided to get more Nome's to help the other ones. They all have a clear goal in mind, to put coal into the furnace. Even though I see what they're doing, it still strikes me as odd. They seem to have actual thoughts and wills. I need to look into this more later, there is clearly more to these guys than they let on.

A rush of heat from the powered furnace comes blazing towards me. I put my hand in front of my face in a pathetic attempt to block some of it.

"Hey, Y/N, look at that!"

Seven lightly nudges my arm and points to something beside us. Looking over there, still trying to block out the heat, I see what he's pointing at.

There's multiple carts filled to the brim with coal. They seem to be lined up vertically, attached to one another by a thick railing holding it all together. Thanks to the -now fully powered- furnace, they have started to slowly move upwards towards the ceiling.

Actually, looking at it more closely, there seems to be a hole in the ceiling. That makes more sense. That's probably where the people running this ship are bringing coal to.

"Oh, neat! Why did the Nome's decide to power that, though?" I say, looking at the contraption still.

"I-I think they want us to ride it" Seven responds, briefly glancing at one of the Nomes pointing a the carts. "Ride it? It looks kind of unstable..." I say, uncertain about all of this.

"U-um, well, we don't really have anywhere else to go, and...w-well..." He trails off, going quieter at the end of his speech. I quietly sigh, and look at the carts once more. I've dealt with way more horrifying things than this. A hunter with a gun, a teacher with the longest neck I've ever seen, a doctor that climbs on the ceiling, a tall man with magic powers and a fedora...the list goes on.

Suddenly, Mono flashes through my mind. He didn't deserve any of what happened to him. He tried to be friends with Six...but then she...

I need to get off of this ship, and fast. I know Six is somewhere around. Hopefully I've created enough distance between us, but who knows. She also has that weird shadow counterpart, probably helping her in some way.

But for now, I need to use these carts and ride them up above.

With newfound determination, I grab Sevens hand and lead him towards the carts. "W-Woah!" He desperately tries to catch up with my sudden burst of speed.

I stop just before one of the carts rises out of the ground. This system reminds me of an escalator in certain aspects. I step on the cart, and Seven follows close behind. I try to find stable footing with all of this coal around, but it's probably a lost cause.

The cart starts rising off of the ground, supported by the railing close behind it. "This rides a little shaky..." I nervously laugh, trying not to let my fear of heights take over and cloud my mind. Seven seems surprisingly calm about being this high up.

I realize I'm still holding his hand, and I awkwardly take my hand back. He doesn't seem to mind, although his blush did disappear once I took my hand away. Wait blush?

I look back down towards the ground that we both previously stood. The cute little Nome's down there seem so tiny now!

Wait. Wait, wait! Is that...

There's a flash of yellow down below us. There's no way...is that really?

She stands still for a moment, observing the Nome's working with the furnace. Slowly, though, her head slowly rises up towards our cart.

Fear is all I feel at the moment, as I instinctively take a step back. She really followed me here!?

The last thing I saw before rising into the ceiling was Six walking towards the carts to follow us.
