CHAPTER THREE
≪ ◦ the name of the game ❖ ◦ ≫
season one episode thirteen

𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗚𝗟𝗘𝗘 𝗖𝗟𝗨𝗕 had been provided with a school bus that, in Roseline's opinion, smelt worse than the boy's locker room. The smell didn't help with the teenager's moods either. Roseline took a seat next to Rachel as the group watched Artie get lifted into the bus.

Mr. Shue and Ms. Pillsbury stood outside as they talked. Roseline couldn't help but sigh as she looked around, and despite how much faith she had in him, Finn had decided not to show up. Although, she couldn't say she blamed him. Finn hadn't returned any of their messages, but she still expected him to show up. He loved the glee club, and she didn't want it to be ruined for him.

Roseline was brought out of her thoughts as the bus started up, making the seats shake ever so slightly. She then felt her hair being touched, whipping her head backward she cursed out Jacob Ben Israel, as he was trying to sniff her hair. "God, you're disgusting."

𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗡𝗘𝗪 𝗗𝗜𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦 wasted no time occupying the (semi) comfortable sofas, that were placed at the front of the waiting room. Rachel watched as Roseline's leg bounced up and down nervously. She placed a hand on her leg, shaking her head indicating everything was going to be alright, but Roseline wasn't sure she believed that. She had tried to call Finn, once more, but it had gone straight to voicemail. Nevertheless, she gave her friend a small smile of appreciation.

Ms. Pillsbury's calm voice brought Roseline out of her head, "Okay. So, smooth sailing so far, we're all signed in, and, um, according to the program, you have drawn performance slot number three." She told the group.

"We're going last? Isn't that bad?" Tina asked, voicing many of the group's questions.

Rachel took this opportunity to join the redhead in front of the group, "Hardly." She informed them. "This is good news. My extensive auditioning for community theater has taught me that we either want to go first or last." Roseline gave her friend a sceptical look. "If we're first, then everyone has to measure up to us, and if we're last, then we're freshest in the judges' minds."

"And did you ever get any of those parts?" Kurt questioned the Berry girl.

"I'm with Rachel on this." The teacher voiced. "The glass is definitely half full of some very good things right now."

Mercedes nodded in agreement, "Yeah, Ms. Pillsbury's right. I mean, we're here now, right? No reason not to go in with some positive mojo."
