Tae Rin-Cha
"Just a coffee, please."
"Anything for you, Hunter Tae!"
I smiled at the vendor, who passed me a cup of caffeine with a tint of red across his cheeks. I swear, that guy never changes, even after my countless times of telling him I wasn't interested in a relationship. Especially not with someone like him. From my friends' experience, they tell me that he's a closet pervert who will do anything to get into your pants. That's not only disgusting, but so revolting I'd rather jump off a building than ever associate myself with a creep like this guy.
Even if he's a perv, he makes damn good coffee.
I tried to give him a heartfelt smile, but it turned out looking so fake his co-worker scoffed at my efforts.
I was so not ready for anything today. All I wanted was a coffee and to wish Sung good luck on his newest raid. It was like this every time, and I'd never miss a single one. He's my best friend, my light in this world, and seeing him accomplish his dreams and going raids is one thing I wouldn't miss for the world.
Yeah, he may be considered "The World's Weakest Hunter," but I don't give two shits about that. Seeing him happy is all I need to cheer me up. We've been like this for almost two decades now. I've known him since I was four, and I grew up with him and his sister Jin-Ah. Now that we were both twenty-four, that would perfectly line up as two decades. So yeah, we've basically been best friends for twenty years now.
"Good morning Hunter Tae!"
"Oh, hey Mr. Kim. Fancy seeing you here."
"Likewise. Will you be joining our raid team today?"
I sighed and shook my head, taking a swing of my coffee. "Nah, I just went through a gate yesterday, I need some time off. Maybe next time though."
He chuckled and clinked his coffee cup with mine. "Be there to save our asses next time Hunter Tae!"
"She some sort of big shot?" A man with thick black locks questioned, and Sang-Shik chuckled.
"You bet. She's a B rank Mage, and is destined to one day make S Rank. Ain't that right, Rin-Cha?"
"Don't mention it. I'm sure you'll all pull through this like a piece of cake without me."
"Cheers to that!"
Both men clinked cups with me, and I took a small sip of my drink. After I put it down, my face began to light up as I saw the familiar black hair I saw almost every day. He sported a blue-greyish hoodie with dark jeans and the same green backpack he's been using for the past years. I laughed and stood up from the ledge I was sitting on, going to greet him with a smile.
"Hey rookie," I punched him lightly and gave him my half drunk coffee. He sighed as he drank it, finishing it in a few mere seconds. I felt his arm, and gasped lightly at the sensation.
"Have you been working out with Jin-Woo?"
"Haha, no, not much."
"Really? I definitely feel some muscles under your jacket!"
He chuckled and handed back the coffee to me, his cheeks a little bit flushed. I broke apart from him to toss it in the trash, only to see Lee Ju-Hee approaching him with a frown. I stayed away, watching her stutter and blush as she talked with Sung. I knew she always had a small crush on him, and it never really got to me. But today, something was different. She seemed a lot more calm then most times, and that bothered me a whole lot. Maybe she was finally going to muster up the balls to ask him out? No, she couldn't be doing that. It must be something else.
