Now it was 8 years later, they were 19 years old, and rivals. Of course they were rivals, they hated each other and competed to be the best fighter of their time, the competition and hatred that Emma felt towards Will because he was an idiot who wouldn't stop infuriating her, over clouded everything else. They were about to start their 7th year in about a week, so they could now move into cabin houses on campus to learn how to live by themselves. Before the 8th year each year had to sleep in one big dorm separated between boys and girls.
Every year, two 8th year students are chosen to compete in a tournament with 3 different rounds to see who is the best fighter of the year. Although everyone knew Emma would be one of the one's chosen.
It was a sunny early morning, Emma was still in a deep sleep. There was no particular dream, just a blank canvas with familier laughter in the background. After a while there was a blurry voice calling her name. She woke up with a start because someone violently shook her. It was Clara. One of her best friends in school. She was a brunette with hazel eyes.
"What are you doing still sleeping?" Clara asked "Breakfast is going to start soon and Agnes is going to announce the participants" she said enthusiastically
"Oh crap!" she exclaimed while getting up running to get dressed. Her outfit was pretty much the usual, skinny black jeans that sort of show off her curviness with a black skin tight shirt tucked into her trousers and a black leather jacket. When Emma was finishing her makeup, which was just a bit of concealer to cover her bags, mascara, a bit of black pencil on her waterline and a bit of her dark red lipstick.
" Um.. Emma?" Clara asked, a bit unsure.
" Yeah?" The girl in the bathroom answered
" Can I ask you something?" the brunette asked
" Of course" Emma answered while sitting on her bed to put on her black chunky
high heel boots
"Why were you muttering Will's name while you were sleeping?" she asked,
regretting she ever did. Emma froze what she was doing for a split second then continued to put on her boots normally without making any eye contact.
" Well.. I don't exactly remember my dream. Maybe I was dreaming I was suffocating the life out of him" Emma gave a forced laugh knowing exactly what was the reason she was saying his name. The laughter in the dream was his and Emma's laugh from when they were kids.
Emma and Clara go down to the dining hall. While they are walking, Emma keeps trying to remember her dream, why there was laughter, but nothing comes to mind. Clara was babbling about how Will is a jerk but his brother is pretty cute or something like that, she wasn't listening. It has always been good to have a friend like Clara, she is caring and a good listener, but talked a lot and most of it was nonsense and barely let Emma talk, so Emma could use the time when Clara was rattling about god knows what, to think.
When they walked into the dining hall the 2 girls saw their friends Mitala, a redhead with freckles all over her skin and daughter of a peasant fairy and a demon hunter, Ben an african american that is the son of a warlock and demon hunter., and Jason, Emma's brother, waiting saving them seats. The dining hall was a massive castle room with paintings on the wall and various wooden square tables that were positioned straight through the entire hall. Then at the end of the hall is Agnes' silver podium with the teacher's long rectangular table behind it. When Clara and Emma reached their friends they sat down, greeting each other. The friends that had gotten there before the 2 girls had already started eating, so Emma and her friend started serving themselves waiting for Agnes to begin. While Emma sat down after getting her food she saw Will, six foot tall and slim muscular body and defined jaw with his messy yet neat dark almost black brown hair, and ocean blue-ish green eyes. Just seeing him was so annoying, she just wanted to strangle him. Strutting across the room to sit with his brother and friends. Their eyes met for a brief moment from across the room and all the happy and sad memories they shared immediately flooded her mind. But one particular memory seemed to stick in her head. It was her 10th birthday, and as a birthday present he got her a rose gold oval locket with a long thin chain and roses embroidered on it, with a picture of them sitting together by a fire reading a book together. But those memories were simply what they were, memories, and somewhere deep inside, where she'd never admit hurts.
"Emma!!" all her friends shoved her at once.
"What?" the blond girl asked, innocently.
"You and Will were chosen to participate in the tournament" her ginger friend said
cheerfully except when saying Will's name, which she muttered a bit.
"Go, you have to go up to the podium!" her brother said half pulling her up and
sending her off.
Emma got up to the podium the same second as Will, both looked at each other scowling. Will and Emma slowly face the audience with a false smile plastered on her face, they both looked at every one while they cheered.
" You guys can go sit back down," the headmistress whispered to them.
Thank god
Emma sat back down and continued her breakfast quietly while all her friends talked about the tournament. Every once and a while she said an "Mhmm" or "Yeah". Though she felt his intense eyes on her and she could just imagine the infuriating smirk on his face. She was fuming with rage inside and thanked the heavens that no one could read her mind. Though she didn't look in his direction once. She finished before her friends and told them she was going to get her things, to move into her cabin. She quickly got her things from the dorm since she had already packed last night due to being anxious and needing to do something. When she was heading down to the main corridor to see the chart with the house numbers and name of each student, she saw everyone heading to get their stuff and was glad she was the first and not to be caught in a crowd.
She shuddered mentally, Emma has always hated crowds. She reached the chart and dragged her finger down 'till she found her name.
Cabin chart Anderson, Bree Mary - cabin 23

You have got to be kidding me.
Emma exited Tikithi by the front door and went down the stone sidewalk until she saw Cabin 30. It has a small patch of grass in front of the cabin with small garden bushes on either side of the 3 wooden steps that take people up to the front porch. The porch has 2 porch swings on either side of the door, with plant pots beside them. The porch swings have a wooden frame with black and white cushions. Above the swings there is a glass window with a thin white curtain on the inside of the cabin. The wooden cabin has a dark brown wooden roof. The door is a dark red with a square glass middle, a rusty golden door knob with a large golden "30". Emma went up the steps to the porch, lifted one of the plant pots to get the keys to the cabin.
She enters the cabin and comes face to face with the open kitchen. It has a faux stone kitchen island in the middle with an ivory brown granite countertop with matching tall stools . Beside the island there is a black spiral staircase with light wooden steps that leads to the second floor.
A light ceylon rosewood kitchen cabinets and sink with the same granite countertop all around it. To the left of the sink there is a black refrigerator, then to the far side of the fridge there is a black stove with a black oven beneath it and a microwave the same color above it. There is a door next to the kitchen counters. Emma enters the door and sees that it is the laundry room. She exits the room and walks past the staircase, to see that behind the staircase there is a rectangular antique cherry table with matching chairs that seats four people. As she explores past the kitchen and dining table, she sees the small and cozy living room. There is a faux stone fireplace attached to the wall and the stone continues up the wall in a rectangular way. Above the fireplace there is a small single shelf for decorations and over the shelf there is a small tv. In front of the fireplace and tv there is a light beige L-shaped comfy couch with a dark wooden coffee table and a cozy chair that matches the couch beside it. Beside the couch there is a glass door with thin white curtains that leads to the back porch that has a view of the beautiful mountains. Emma smiles and thinks "Wow this place is beautiful!".
The girl goes back to the spiral staircase and goes up to the second floor. The staircase leads to a bright hall with 2 doors. The first door that she walks in is her neutral beige paint color bedroom. In the center of the room there is a black frame 4 poster bed with black curtains white and gray pillows and blankets. There are 2 ebony wooden nightstands with a lamp on each, the nightstands are on each side of the bed. To the left of the room there is a mirror closet, and on the opposite wall there is a large window with a gray black out curtain.
On one side of the window there are 2 cozy reading chairs with a small coffee table in the middle and on the opposite side there is a makeup vanity with a mirror attached to it and a matching chair. In Front of the bed there is a small tv with the WiFi mobile on it and the password glued to it. Beside the door there is a door to the bathroom which is a normal size white bathroom with a bathtub next to the shower and a hamper behind the door. Which was good for an ice bath to help heal her scar tissues especially since she had already busted her knees 3 times before. She exited the room to go into the room beside her bedroom. It was her Study.
The office has a square ebony table next to a brick wall with wooden drawers attached, and a matching leather chair. The back wall is a dark blue bookshelf glued to the wall, with a bay window in the middle. Opposite of the brick wall is the same dark blue wall with a fireplace and a cozy reading chair beside it. The white ceiling has a yellow light small chandelier in the middle, with white light bulbs in each corner of the ceiling.
After Emma toured her new cabin, she started to unpack. She was halfway through unpacking her suitcase full of clothes, when she heard a thump on the ground. She bent down to pick up the object that fell. As soon as she picked up the object to see what it was, she threw it back down as if it burned her hand. It was a locket Will had given her. She thought she lost it years ago. It still looked the same, a rose gold oval locket with a few designs engraved to it. Slowly she bent down to pick it up again, and gave it a good long look at it. She turned to the closet and closed it to use the mirror. Emma put the necklace on, absentmindedly, and looked at it for a long time. But soon she was snapped out of her trance, when she heard her friends in her living room calling her.
Shit! I forgot to lock the door.
"Coming!" Emma called out to them. She quickly tucked the necklace into her shirt and hurried down to them, like nothing happened.
"Hey guys! What's up?" asked Emma "
We came to see if you were coming down to dinner with us." Jason said. "Are you?" Ben asked.
"Yeah, but is it time already?" Emma asked.
"Jesus, how long was I staring at that thing?" Emma muttered under breath "What did you say?" asked Mitala
"Nothing!" She lied quickly. "Let's go then."
The 5 friends went down to the dining hall. Will was already there and mustered
all of her self-control to not look in his way once. Everything went fine, and she even forgot about him while talking to her friends. Until about 10 minutes before the dinner ended, two students came in to talk to Will and Emma separately. Saying that we had to go to Agnes' office to talk about the competition.
Emma got up and decided to go to the headmistress' office early and mentally prepare herself to not lose her temper with her opponent in the competition.
"Hello Headmistress Miller" said Emma as she entered the office.
"Hello my dear, do you happen to know if Mr. Gray is coming?" asked the
Headmistress.
"I have no idea." said the girl grudgingly, as she stood awkwardly in the middle of
the room. A couple seconds after Emma spoke Will came in, and ignited the anger Emma was trying so hard to keep at bay.
"Hello Agnes" said the boy charmingly, as Emma glared at him as the sixty something woman giggled at the mere hello.
"So! What did you want to talk to us about?" asked Emma as lightly as she could.
"Well, I just want to tell you that the first round will start the day after tomorrow, and what the 3 rounds will be. The first round will be hand to hand fighting. The second round will be the day after and it will be weapons fighting. And the final round will be the next day and it will be a race." Said the Head of Tikithi.
"Understand? Any questions?" she asked. "No, I'm good, '' said Emma.
"Same." answered Will.
"Great, you can head down to your cabins now," said Agnes.
"Okay" The two teens replied. They exited the office and turned to each other. "You know I'm going to win right?" said Will.
"Yeah right!" Emma scoffed.
"Listen here Gray, you may think that you're all that, walking around thinking you
own the place, but trust me you're not. You're just an arrogant bastard." Said Emma harshly.
"You didn't used to think that when we were kids." replied Will in the same tone. Emma was a little thrown off by the comment about their past, but she didn't let it show.
"That's because I'm not as blind as I was when I was a little girl. I've learned the type of guy you are, and it disgusts me!" Emma said as she turned around and walked on her heels back to the cabin. But as she walked back, she felt the locket around her neck feel heavier than it actually was.
