Avery's POV

The bar was exactly what Zo had described. It was nothing like i've seen before. There were girls straddling and grinding on the laps of men, and at the same time, there were girls half naked sitting on table tops, giggling and laughing amongst the music.

There was a stage right in the middle of the bar, where a few of the girls could be seen dancing against a pole in their bright coloured lingerie, with people throwing endless amounts of money at them.

A few of the people sitting down had guns in their hands, while others had some sort of strange looking powder covering their noses. My eyes fell on a couple of men in suits who were touching the waitresses that were serving them.

Zo seemed to notice my distress and grabbed onto my hand immediately pulling me away from the tables.

"Don't worry, i'm not gonna let them touch you okay?" She shouted over the music so that I could hear her.

We got to the back of the bar, where most people were just sitting down chatting with a drink in their hands. Immediately my heart relaxed a bit at the sight of the normal bar people. I can serve them. Please let me serve them instead.

Zo's grip on me remained as she dragged me to the counter where three to four bartenders were making drinks hurriedly. They were all wearing the same black t-shirt that I was wearing, except instead of a skirt, they all wore plain black pants. Even the girl bartenders didn't wear a skirt like I was.

"It's a waitress uniform, they're bartenders so they are expected to wear a different type of uniform." Nicolo responded from beside me, causing me to jump from his sudden appearance.

Where'd he come from? And how did he know what I was thinking?

"I could see your facial expression from across the room." This time my mouth fell open in shock, he looked at me and let out a loud laugh, "You also thought out loud."

I closed my mouth back up.

"I'll be in the far corner of this room with Tomasso, you find one of us if you need help okay?" He looked down at me for a split second before pressing his finger up to his ear piece. "Got it, coming now."

He smiled at me and gave my shoulder a quick squeeze before dashing over to a table where a couple of men were swearing loudly at each other.

''Okay Avery, your first task is to bring these to that table over there, all you gotta do is read out their orders and place it on their table, sound good?" Zo handed me a tray of glass drinks.

"Got it! Thanks Zo!"

.................................

I was starting to get the hang of this. It was quite fun to be honest, it reminded me of the bar that I was previously working in, except with a manager that I actually liked.

All I had to do was grab a few drinks from Zo and the bar, and deliver them to the tables that ordered it. Then go back to the bar for another table's order. Pretty easy, if I say so myself.

The entire time I was working, Nicolo and Tommaso stood in the far corner like they said they would. They watched over everything and threw people out who were getting too agressive. Whenever I passed by them, they both would ask how I felt and if everything was okay.

It was nice to know that there were people here to look out for the waitresses. Back at the Little Red Bar, the security guards couldn't care less. They only stood outside to stop people who were too drunk from getting in. They would never step foot inside if we ever needed help.
