Avery's POV
My eyes were glued shut the entire time, that I hadn't noticed I was pressed up against his back, my arms squeezing his torso tightly.
He chuckled and grabbed onto my hands, holding them gently as he continued to speed through dark, empty roads. I felt his thumb caress my hand reassuringly and again the butterflies erupted inside of me.
"Scared?" I felt his body turn slightly, probably to look at me but I refused to open my eyes. I shook my head, holding him tighter as he revved the engine again.
We finally came to a complete stop, after what felt like hours. He removed his hand from mine and I felt movement on the bike. I opened my eyes slowly, letting them adjust to the lights around me as he got off the bike and took off his helmet.
He looked at me with a soft smile, leaning in closer to unbuckle my helmet. I blinked up at him as he turned around to place the helmet on the handle of the bike.
"Never. Again." I jumped off the bike and crossed my arms as I glared at him. "I am never hopping on that devil of a vehicle again."
"It wasn't so bad." He grabbed my hand and started to walk us towards to the brightly lit diner.
"It was the worst thing to go on." I looked down at our hands intertwined and then back up at him, but he didn't seem to notice. Instead he walked into the diner and used his other hand to signal the waitress.
"Hi there! A table for two this morning?" The red haired waitressed smiled up at us. I was about to nod my head but Vince cut me off.
"We're ordering to go." I looked at him confusedly as the waitress handed us the menus and signalled us towards the counter.
"Let me know when you're ready!" I looked up at Vince as he opened up the menu.
"We're not eating here?"
He continued to the flip the pages. "Just trust me. Order something you like and we'll head out."
We sat in silence for a few minutes before the waitress came back, a notepad and pen in her hand.
"Alright, what can I get you?"
"A breakfast sandwhich, extra bacon, and a cappuccino." Vince closed the menu and looked at me.
"Um.. a breakfast sandwhich as well, no bacon but could I put a hash brown in it too?" The waittress nodded and wrote down my order before looking up at me again.
"No coffee?" Vince stared at me, his eyes curious.
"No thank you. Thats all." She nodded and walked off, leaving the two of us alone.
"You didn't want a coffee? Even after barely sleeping the whole night?" I looked at him and smiled sheepishly.
"No, i'm not a big fan of coffee." I fumbled with the sleeves of the hoodie. "I am tired though, do you think we can stop by somewhere to get bubble tea?"
"What the fuck is bubble tea?" I giggled at his response, earning myself a small smile from him.
"You've never had it?" The waittress returned to us, handing us a brown lunch bag and Vince's cup of coffee. He thanked her and handed her some cash before grabbing onto my hand again, leading me out of the diner and back to the dreaded bike.
"I've never even heard of it before." He placed the bag down and began to strap the helmet on me once more. "What is it?"
"It's milk tea and it has these chewy balls in it. I drink it almost everyday, but i only drink it without the toppings cause it gets too much sometimes." He smiled down at me and I couldn't help but blush. "Sorry. I get really excited over it. It's my favourite.''
