Avery's POV
I let out a tired yawn as I leant against the tall oakwood tree in the giant backyard. Even though it was such a bright and beautiful day, I was still drowned inside the giant brown hoodie. It was just so warm and comforting, and I loved the woody smell that it carried.
The garden was absolutely breathtaking, there was a small field of flowers and a white swing set beside it. It looked like the perfect spot to sit and daydream at.
Almost too pretty to sit on.
My hands pried open my pink notebook for the fourth time this evening and looked down at the lyrics I had scribbled out earlier.
Loving you is like....
I shook my head and drew a line through it.
Losing you is like...
I crossed it out again, the pen in my hand tapping against my songbook agressively. Why can't I come up with anything?
A dark shadow towered above me, sheilding me from the sun's harsh rays. Slowly, I tilted my head up, my agressive pen tapping coming to halt as Vincenzo's large frame in front of me. His head covered the sun from where I was, giving me a perfect view of his curious, and slightly amused eyes.
''What is getting you so frustated Butterfly?" A slight blush creeped onto my cheeks at the nickname as he bent down slightly to peek at my books. I slammed it shut nervously and gave him a bashful smile, the redness in my cheeks still evident.
"It's nothing." I denied quickly, earning myself a look from him.
"It's fine if you don't want to tell me," He offered a hand out for me to take, "It is not fine however, if you lie to me."
His large hand engulfed with mine as he pulled me up towards him. He looked down at me, a knowing look plastered across his face, making me shrink back slightly. My heart started to beat rapidly against my chest as he leaned in, closing the space between us till his lips brushed past my neck, resting just below my earlobe.
I let out a small gasp, my mouth opening slightly as my stomach churned.
"Lie one more time and see where that gets you." He whispered, before straightening up.
I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding as he finally let go of my hand, making me miss the warm of it, almost instantly.
"W-what?" I choked out, my whole face probably red by now.
"I'm sure you heard me loud and clear." He smirked, shoving his hands into his pockets. "I won't repeat myself butterfly."
I looked away from his gaze and fiddled with the hems of my br- .. his brown hoodie. I know he said I could keep it, and as much as I would like to keep it, it was his. I'll return it to him tomorrow, it was keeping me so warm, I can't bear to be seperated from it.
Did I ever mention I get to attached to objects very quickly?
Cause I get attached to objects, VERY, quickly.
"Nervous are we?" His chuckled, tilting his head slightly to observe my clearly embarassed face.
"N-" I thought about the warning he had just given and shut my mouth completely.
"Wanna try that again?" He was clearly enjoying this.
"Um- I was gonna say-"
"Vince!" And just like that, his demeanour changed completely. His playful and amused expression melted back into the emotionless frame he always wore. His body language stiffened as he straightened up, leaving a great amount of hieght difference between us.
