Destiny Taylor
Bevery Hills, CASliding my shoes off, I walked into my sister's house hearing voices come from the kitchen. Making my way there, Nadia and Noriah came into view.
"Your favorite sibling has arrived," I smiled.
"My favorite sibling is right here. You and that other one is too much to handle." Noriah said and I rolled my eyes taking a seat on Nadia's couch. She had some type of board up or something that she was adding shit to.
"What's this? A vision board?"
"No, it's my party planning thing. For the London store's grand opening, I want something spectacular and good so I figured might as well start planning it a month in advance."
"I can't believe you sleeping with that old hag worked." I gagged and Nadia rolled her eyes.
"I came and that's all that matters." She smirked and I gagged some more literally feeling vomit appear in ny throat.
"You nasty bitch, I should tell your father about you."
"Destiny, when you gone start calling him dad again? You switch so much with calling him his name and just dad, you might as well just stick to Dad like you been doing for the past 23 years." I had to have made the biggest eye roll ever.
We don't never talk about how Stephen wasn't my father. It got awkward to me so I like to dodge it as much as possible. My mother wanted to sit me down and talk about it but I ditched her on multiple occasions.
To me, it's not just something you could just speak on like it's nothing. I spent my whole life calling a man that wasn't my father, "Dad", just to find out my real one out there somewhere.
"It's not that easy plus it's uncomfortable for me,"
"I don't see why...that man raised you from diapers up to you graduating high school. That's your father and you still a Taylor," Nadia said not looking at us and still on her little art project.
"You ever thought about doing a 23 and Me or Ancestry.com shit?" Noriah asked and I shook my head scrunching my face up.
"Oh, nooo. I'm cool with not knowing who he is besides... y'all mother wanna tell me so bad and I keep rejecting her." My mom was being even more persistent on telling me who my bio father was since that birthday party back in Houston. But like I said I don't wanna know until I'm ready.
"I hope you find peace one day, Des," Nadia commented and I hummed.
"You too...speaking of you inviting Chris to the party?" She looked at me like I was crazy and I just shrugged.
"Why the hell would she do that?" Noriah joined in and now the both of them was looking at me side eyed.
"Yeah, why the hell would I do that?"
