Shaurya POV:

Surrounded with red fluid called blood, Prakash's body lay on the street, static and stock-still.

"Junior!" Dharam yelled and paced afar, then he grabbed a crumbled paper from the floor and walked back to us.

"What's that Dharam?"

"The man in the car threw this!"

I neatened the paper. A note was written on it: Better Luck Next Time. Was written on it.

"What's written on it, Shaurya?" Veer inquired.

"Fucking Bastard send a note, for me," I muttered with a clenched jaw and squeezed the crushed paper in my fist, imagining that to be his neck.

"He is no more, Junior," Naveed Sahan announced, after checking his neck pulse.

I looked at Parkash's friend from the slum and commanded my guards, "arrest him, and tried to bring out more information from him."

"I will take care of things, you take care of Saira," Veer informed, looking at the startled frame of Saira.

She stayed calm since we left that area. After we crossed the area she finally spoke.

"What he is trying to do, Shaurya? And what are we doing?" Those words and her face were drawn with the pain. "Trying to kill me or kidnap me, is acceptable but why did he kill him?" I had no answer to her query.

"Bear!"

"I just tore his shirt and pushed him away, which cause him to stumble and trip on the ground. This doesn't mean that he will kill anyone. And if he wanted to, then he could come and kill me–"

"Bear! Don't say that?"

"Shaurya, my words mean that he is playing with us, our emotions, he is targeting our happiness. My kidnapper waited till we reach Prakash so that he could kill Prakash in front of our eyes. If he wanted to kill him, he could have done it last night or before we arrived. This open challenge is something else. Don't worry, when he will come in front of me, I will kill him before he will and for that, I will prepare myself." My whole body vibrated with delirium watching her spirits. "Well, Prakash was a traitor, a backstabber, who cheated his owner by helping that kidnapper but his family is innocent. We will provide them with some clothes and money!" She informed sounding like Mama.

Watching murder, blood, and accidents, turned me into a cold-hearted man. We don't refer to ourselves as assassins or Mafia but the rules we follow to handle things are nothing different from the Mafias. And since the death of my mother, I became the predator, whose prey is her killer. I cared less about anyone and jumped on the rim to fetch her killer. But since Saira stepped inside my life, I changed my thoughts and gaze to view the world.

On our way to Villa, I texted the guards to arrange things for our stay in the lake house. I wanted to celebrate her admission and even stay awake throughout the night and watch the movies. That is my favorite place, where I feel refreshed and even relaxed.  Maybe it will help her also.

"Where are we going?" She queried when the car passed through the villa.

"To the lake house."

Though the lake house is protected by electrical locks and nobody can enter inside except me and Papi, I better thought to let a few safeguards guard us. I took the package of food items from them and unlocked the door by decoding the electric locks. After we step inside, the locks automatically get active.

Saira inhaled deeply and murmured, "I really, really, love this place. But don't you think it's quite cold?"

I hugged her from behind and replied, "And I love you!"
