"Don't! Don't! Please don't hit him" I begged in front of that person, who stood with his face hidden by a white mask, wearing a white hoodie.
Instead of me begging, he rose the bamboo and strike hard against Shaurya's head. Blood oozed out of his mouth and head then he fell to the ground, unresponsive. "No!" I screamed at the top of my heart.
I fell on my knees beside Shaurya. Everything went blurred while I watched him bleed. There was no rising of his chest. His nose gave upon inhalation or exhalation. His body lay without any minute movement that could satisfy me that he was still alive.
"Shaurya!" I shook his body. "You killed him!" I shouted at that white mask man. I shrieked. I cried. There was nothing that I can do to wake him up. "What was his mistake? He just wanted to protect me." I rest my head on Shaurya's chest.
"No! No!" He can't leave me alone. I can't leave without him. My whole body was shaking from the agony of the realization that Shaurya is no more.
For a moment I wished it to be a dream. Just a dream.
Then my brain conveyed to me that if I open my eyes, everything will be ended. I turn my head left and right I tried to hold something. I fisted a sheet with my both hands then I gasped and opened my eyes. It was a dream. Thank God! Shaurya is safe and alive. I wiped the beads of sweat that accumulated on my forehead. Then I tilt my head to the left and saw that the sun had already welcomed the new day.
I searched for my mobile to make him call and confirm. But then I realized, I don't have a mobile, it got broke while I was being abducted.
I climbed out of my bed and walked inside my bathroom. I had no idea to whom my father allotted as my new bodyguard. Till yesterday, I wanted to change my bodyguard because of my stubborn nature. But now, it's better for his security that I keep him away from him.
While brushing my hair, I recalled Armaan's words. He was obviously against my decision to change my bodyguard.
"Saira, don't you understand, your life is at risk. There is someone roaming in this city, who is thirsty for your blood. If it was not Shaurya, we would have lost you?"
"What Shaurya did was part of his job. He saved me because my dad is paying him for that." I interjected.
"But he wouldn't have seated like a psycho the whole night waiting for you to open your eyes, without even taking a sip of water. You knew and even I, Shaurya see you more than a job. Then why Saira?" When I stayed silent he responded in anger, "I will also see, how you will step out of Dehradun without Shaurya!"
"Maan, you will not interfere in my personal decision!"
"And I give a fuck about your decision!"
Since last night he didn't speak or come to visit me or ask further about my trip. Other than that, the gloom to stay away from Shaurya is getting piled up every minute since the last night.
I stared at the mirror and recalled the memories of Shaurya and mine. Only those memory of me spending the night in his apartment replayed like my only memory. The way he made me feel that night was completely different. I closed my eyes and felt how smoothly, hard, and aggressively his lips moved against mine. I touched my lips and then opened my eyes.
You spread like a drug inside my body, Shaurya.
Why is it hard to hate you?
I walked out of my bathroom and stepped inside the closet. I decided to wear a lemon yellow pinafore dress with a black half-sleeve t-shirt. To match my dress, I decided to wear white sneakers. One of the maids came with my breakfast and also to carry my trolley bag and backpack. "Can you keep a protein shake and water bottle in my backpack!" I requested her.
