School resumes and we prepare for a new start… I woke up with mom yelling she was indeed a natural alarm but things weren't going the same as they were. They were totally different from before Savannah was always up as usual and was taking her bath without me at this point I didn't care I got up from bed and did my own preparation when I was done I went downstairs and sat on the dining table
“Good Morning Hannie, how was your night and where is Savie” she asked
“It was ok Nana, and Savannah will soon be here” I said
“You both didn't race yourselves here that's why I asked. Is everything ok between you two” she asked
“Yeah, it's all good” I said
Savannah soon came rushing downstairs and hugged Nana Nora then sat down, Jordan joined us, he greeted Nana Good Morning then patted my head and said Good Morning to me before he sat down.
Next to join us was Mom and dad they almost also did the same but greeted all of us together before having their seats breakfast was served and we all ate till we got filled
I kissed mom and dad goodbye and went into Jordan's care to wait for him and Savannah, they soon joined me and we drove to school. Upon reaching school my mood suddenly changed, I was going to a new class and met some new classmates... I was nervous as we both got down from the car and Savannah walked ahead leaving us behind, I wasn't surprised I expected her to do something like this .
Jordan offered to walk me to my new class and I was speechless, throughout the holidays he was always there for me just so I won't feel lonely. But most times I'd shut him out, I accepted and we walked together a lot of eyes stared at us as we entered the school premises
We got in and I saw Savannah talking to her same old friends.. I wasn't surprised again because they were all smart and I'm sure they can make it in the science Field
“Stop looking at her will you?” Jordan said annoyed
“Aren't you happy at least I'm here with you” he added
“Yes I am” I said
“Good so focus on your journey not hers” He advised
“Ok” I said
We asked for the humanities class and got directed; he walked me till the door step
“There you go, you can proceed, my friends are waiting for me so you can get in and make new friends before lessons start” He said
“I’ll try, thank you see ya during break” I said and sighed
I got into the class and saw a girl sitting by herself I didn't have the guts to say hi and ask questions but she soon noticed me …
“Hey, are you new too!, You can sit next to me if you want, it's a free seat” she said to me
“Umm, ok thank you” I said as I sat and packed my books down
“So what's your name? How old are you? Where are you from? Are you a new student in this school? Are you a Muslim or Christian? Are you-”
“Slow down.... So many questions” I said in a low voice
“Sorry, I'm just excited.. would you mind being my friend, I'm new here and I don't know anyone yet so you can be my new bestie. Right?” she asked, giving me puppy eyes
“Ok sure I will, so to answer your questions,My name is Hannah Mickelson, I'm 15 and almost 16.. Where I come from is not important, I'm a Christian, does that answer your questions?” I said
“Wow cool I'm 15 and Christian too! My name is Maya Johnson, you can call me May” she said as she giggled
“Cool nickname” I said
“That’s fine with me ,It's nice meeting you Hannah” she said and smiled
“Me too” I replied with a smile
As we were talking other new and also old students from middle school came into class old students like Mary Lane and Ayah Jacobs, I waved at them and they waved back and smiled
The teacher soon got in and everyone had to settle down “Good Morning class, I'm Mr. Paul, I'll be your class teacher and also your History and literature teacher.. If you're and you still have the dream of being a medical doctor or nurse and you're still here please go to the science field it's the best place to pursue your dreams, In the humanities fields we build up law students, journalists, news presenters, book writers , even computer scientists. We have many students from the Middle school like Hannah Mickelson, Mary lane and Ayah Jacobs. So please I'd love it if you socialize and make new friends before school closes” he Said
“I'm sure you won't mind showing me around the school” Maya asked
“it'll be my pleasure” I said
“Ok so please introduce yourselves so we can get to know each other because it's the first day” Mr. Paul continued
I started the introduction process then Maya had her turn too because she sat next to me, everyone took turns in introducing themselves and it was successful, although others were shy and didn't say much but others were pretty good in public speaking , we didn't learn much, mostly knowing our new teachers and introducing ourselves to them over and over again, and finally it was time for break
Jordan was waiting at the door of my class to spend the break with me, I rushed to him and hugged him
“How was it? Better?” He asked
“Yes, it was pretty good” I replied
“Oh hi there, are you Hannah's boyfriend? Nice to meet you I'm her new best friend” Maya said as she joined us
“No!” I said shaking my head “He's my elder brother the point guard of the school's basketball team” I clarified with a proud smile
“Ohhh my gosh that's so cool!” she said almost screaming
“I can see you have a new friend, I'm proud why don't you hang out with her and I'll go sit with my friends ' he said then hugged me
“Ok then” I said disappointed, he soon left and I looked at Maya with frustration
“You made him go away” I said
“Oh... My bad please I'm so sorry” she begged
“It's fine, let's just buy out food and find somewhere to sit” I told her
We bought our food and started to look for a free and comfortable place to sit then I spotted a calm girl sitting all alone.
“Maya, Why don't we go sit with her" I told her
“Sure” she agreed
We went and joined her , had a conversation and her name was Ayesha she was a Muslim and she was 16 older than me and Maya she was in the science class but wanted to be in the humanities class because she wanted to be a lawyer but her mom was the problem. I advised her to talk to one of the teachers especially Mrs. Evans she'll surely convince her mom, we chatted and break was soon over. We waved Ayesha goodbye and got up
On our way to class I spotted Jamie laughing with Savannah... What was my business in it anyways?
I acted like I saw nothing and Continued walking with Maya, we got into class and did a few activities and class works, and I already felt worn out u couldn't even concentrate… I felt sleepy and I was honestly tired. I didn't participate much and Maya was the total opposite, Same thing occurred in the other lessons I got bored and just slept but Maya kept on waking me up every time she noticed that I closed my eyes , till it was time to go home. I arrived home and just freshened up, lied down and slept
