We never got to see Jamie after the whole incident then on a Monday morning we heard from one of his friends that he had transferred
I made a promise to myself that I would focus more on myself and my education and was totally done with boys and so called male besties. They were just distractions anyway only to take me backwards instead of taking me forward and I had a weak heart remembering how hard I cried until I couldn't go to school for days because my face was swollen
I learnt my lesson and I'm sure Savannah did too we became closer than ever and we got ourselves together and planned in advance for the exams. I practiced more with Ayesha and Maya than I did with Savannah because she was literally a scientist and we were humanitarians
“Common guys let’s make a promise. No matter what happens our education, happiness, health and friendship matters to us the most and we will be together and achieve our goals together no matter what life throws at us” I said to them
We made this promise and finished it with a tight hug…
Everything went just as planned and we got better in our weak subject areas and worked on our anxiety because our confidence was lacking in public speaking
When the 3rd term exams came we answered them without hesitation or fear, and this time we had I thought to myself the speeches and quotes of Kim Namjoon [RM of BTS] were honestly making an impact on my life, reading my bible more and working on my relationship with God helped a lot too. More importantly I loved myself more and joined the drama club to practice my skills and talent and not only depending on education 24/7
I had fun acting dramas and reciting poems in the assembly and I was soon recognized more, I mean in terms of getting rid of my anxiety because ever since kindergarten almost all teachers and old students knew the famous identical twins that were hard to differentiate because they did everything together and dressed identical it all started to change in middle school when comparison started and picking of the favorite twin began
But I'm glad things were half fixed. I sat down alone in the school’s Hall and remembered the days I used to Panic before exams and wish school never existed, the way I hated education and saw it as a factor that brought bad luck to me
But all those things were just stages almost all students go through ... I later understood that Education is a lifetime process with no true beginning or ending. Like Dr. Seuss said “The more that you read, the more things you will know, the more that you learn, the more places you’ll go” you get what you work hard for and you understand the things you showed interest in, it was a give and take game. Fair but tricky
Also remembering the day I ranked seventh one of the happiest days of my life and also when I ranked fourth… I was sure I was ready for the rest of high school it was a nightmare at the beginning but with the lessons life taught us through the hard way I'm sure these lessons will never depart from us
I went home that same day and looked for acting class websites and got registered in one and successfully my days of acting practice were weekdays because of school so I won't exhaust my mind, I told dad about it and he was honestly proud of me
Savannah on the other hand was always the best student in the science class and it continued and she was well known for academic performance while I became well known through my acting skills and auditions and my pictures in magazines because I wanted to make modelling my part time job
Jordan won a lot of medals and trophies from playing basketball he also taught me a lot from his life and something that he said changed my opinion of life forever and that was “Life can be shitty sometimes, but always remember that if you have a bad start your ending would always be perfect. Don’t depend on only Education school has to offer but learn more from life and work on your talent”.
As for Ayesha she worked more on debates and participated representing the school on debate competitions because it was one way that it could help her future career as being a Supreme Court Judge and she has been a great advisor to me as well and my favorite quote from her is “Don’t let anyone tell you who you are or who you should be, that’s your own decision to make”
Maya on the other hand finalized that she wanted to be a journalist or a social media influencer and that was exactly the perfect occupation for her because she was a chatterbox and had the talent, she was pretty creative and also wanted to work on designs as her part time job and I was doubtlessly positive things would work out for her in one way or the other. Apart from being chatty she has been an awesome friend and has showed me a lot from being happy rather than being depressed all the time. When she said “Sometimes, no one truly cares how we feel because they would never understand. So smile and enjoy life while you can’ no matter how bad it hurts”. It honestly made me understand her better and working on my happiness.
Nana, well she was the same sweet old Nana Nora we all loved growing up, literally our second parent she did so much for me and was there to listen when no one was. I had big plans for her as well when I finally achieve my dreams, truly her sacrifices for our family can only be paid by God.
I can say we loved the way our lives were turning out, we had everything planned and set for the future and everything was going as planned also with Mom finally proud of me and stopped comparing when she realized the bad effect it has caused me in the past.
We made an impact on many other students that believed that education was not their talent and still didn't put effort into it or try at least their maximum best like I did. And being a role model to my juniors was like very satisfying and I made sure I helped other schoolmates with their class works that they didn't understand. Although I couldn't be the best student, but I was sure that I'd try hard to finish high school without going out of the first 10 and I was prepared for the troubles I'd face in the upcoming grade
“I'm just glad we passed all our exams” Maya said
“Yeah me too” Ayesha added
Jordan soon graduated and was looking forward to working better on his basketball career and everything and to be honest everything went really great with him and it was great but one thing was for sure his presence would be missing in the school premises
Meanwhile for me Life in High School is just probably one of the happiest time of our lives as teenagers. Too many memories to remember, making friends, pranking teachers, gossiping and backbiting which was done with the intention of making other people look bad. When it came to the main topic; Education and studies, High School has the most rigorous process of learning than any other stage.
In summary I’ll say
We had more dramas and more adventures throughout the 10th, 11th and 12th grade which was our final year in High School and each year I did better than the previous one with prom and everything I happily went with my twin sister as my partner while Ayesha went with Maya… It was the most interesting and memorable year and class and I was more than happy although I didn't graduate as the best graduating student but my twin sister did and it felt like it was me and we celebrated it together and our parents couldn't be more proud of us.
After this day separation was going to start since Maya, Ayesha and I were all going to different universities. Surely we’d miss each other but we promised to keep in touch and visit once in a while and share how life is treating us individually.
I knew for sure bigger hurdles will come my way but with my friends, family and BTS and not to forget my creator and Almighty father by my side I know I would surely overcome them if I believe I can.
I can say it wasn't a fairytale and didn’t have an ending of a happy ever after ‘yet’
It was the beginning of a new Chapter, a new start to a new stage of Education or learning and also a new start to attain a better understanding of what Life is and what the future holds for us....
