I looked over at Robyn as she watched over Ellie. She caught a respiratory infection and they put her on antibiotics.  As soon as Ellie is discharged she's coming with me and I've made this clear to Robyn.

Ny'Elli - where's Mel?

Robyn rolled her eyes.

Beau - you wanna talk to her?

She nodded.

I called Melody but it went to voicemail.

Beau - Mel is probably sleeping. We can see her when we go home.

Ny'Elli - okay.

Beau - feel any better sweetie?

Ellie - my chest hurts but I'm okay.  I really wanna see Mel though

Robyn - Ny'Elli she isn't your mom. I am.

Ellie - mommy Mel is a good person

Robyn - SHE'S-

Ny'Elli's eyes started to water.

Beau - Robyn calm yo manic ass down. Don't be yelling at my daughter. You know she's sensitive.

After a couple hours, I was finally able to take Ellie home but she's on has to be on bed rest for a few days until the infection goes away.

I called for Melody but there was no answer.  She's usually up by now. I went upstairs to my room with Ellie behind me.

I looked around and saw her side of the closet empty and her stuff gone.

Ellie - it's a note daddy

I picked up the note off the bed and sighed.

Beau,

I'm so sorry to do this but I feel I can't stick around to deal with Robyn anymore.   I love you and Ny'Elli both , but I feel this decision was in my best interest so I get achieve my dreams and goals. Besides Ellie needs both her parents right now and I feel I get in the way of that.  I'm sorry I broke things off in this way but facing you would've been too much for me. I really appreciate everything you've done for me over these last few months and hope one day you can forgive for leaving like this.   I know you love me and this made my decision even harder but I had to choose myself. Maybe you and Robyn can settle your  differences while I'm gone. This isn't goodbye , just see you later. I love you Benedict.

I wiped my face as tears began to fall.

I looked down at Ny'Elli.

Beau - she left.

Ny'Elli- Mel?

I nodded.

Beau - yeah

I picked her up and hugged her as she cried into my chest.

I called her. She answered.

Beau - I got your note.

Mel - I'm sorry

Beau -  what did I do?  Whatever it was , I'm sorry.  Just come back home.

Mel -  Benedict,  you did nothing wrong. I gotta do this for me.  

Beau -   Okay

Mel - I understand you're upset and you have every right to be angry

Beau -    You could've packed while I was at the house Melody
