ÅSTELIEHA NOTICED Kukz's movements slowing as everyone around her fell silent. "What are you doing?" She whispered to her grandmother, tears in her eyes. The older woman met eyes with Åstelieha before looking at everyone else. "Get out." She ordered as everyone scurried away.Åstelieha became confused as Kukz met eyes with the young girl. "You have a talent. I always told you that you were special. One of a kind. All of my words have meaning, kaha." She calmly spoke, placing the girls hands ontop of Neteyam's heart.
"I want you to close your eyes and breathe. Connect with his soul, his body, his heart. And no matter what you do, do not stop thinking of him." Åstelieha slowly closed her eyes as she began thinking of him.
At first, she didn't feel anything, but slowly, she began seeing visions. It was almost a flicker of her future. She opened her eyes, her mind still on Neteyam. Her eyes widened slightly as she saw all the veins and patterns on both his and hers body light up. It looked as if everything from her body was flowing into his.
She gasped as his eyes shot open, the boy heavily breathing. She quickly removed her hand, carefully placing his head into her lap as she stroked his hair. She looked up to her grandmother. She wanted to ask so many questions, but she knew now wasn't the right time.

Åstelieha trailed along the beach, her arm linked through her grandmothers. Nothing but the sound of waves was to be heard. Åstelieha looked down to her grandmother. She was a frail woman, her grey hair was never in braids. Her curls were just like Åstelieha's. Over the years, Åstelieha, Tsireya, Aonung and sometimes even Rotxo engraved many different things into Kukz's kane. Tonowari suggested she got a new one, but she refused. Something about it being sentimental. Most of Kukz's body was covered in tā moko, the only area it didn't cover was her left side of her face, which had a long scar going over it. Åstelieha wasn't sure where it had came from, but she never questioned it.
"So... How did I do that?" Åstelieha broke the silence as Kukz looked up to her. She slowly looked away, averting her eyes towards the ocean. "You know, I am just like you, kaha. When I was around your age, your grandfather almost died in war. My mama tried to save him, but she failed. That's when she told me of my powers. But the mistake she made was telling me about them before using them. It made me doubt myself, sending an electrical shock through half of my body. Yv'kan survived, though I almost did not. Half of my body became paralysed. My mama had to cut open my left side of my face to help me. I don't know how, but she got my body working again." Kukz explained, leaving Åstelieha momentarily speechless.
"Can Tsireya do it? And Aonung? Can dad?" Åstelieha questioned as Kukz shook her head. "No. There is only one child ever chosen, in some cases there may not even be a chosen one. It always tends to be a woman, mainly the eldest daughter."
"So in every family, the eldest daughter can do what I did?" Åstelieha further questioned as Kukz chuckled lightly, shaking her head. "No. Only ours. That is why we are the chiefs. I wasn't sure if you would inherit the power since your father nor your mother has it, but somehow you did." Åstelieha hadn't even realised they had stopped walking until she spotted Neteyam in the distance.
Kukz turned around, following her granddaughters eyeline. Neteyam. "Shout him over, I would like to meet my future grandson in law." Åstelieha was slightly taken aback. She hadn't told anyone apart from her friends about Neteyam, how did she know? "I am not stupid, Åstelieha. I know love when I see it. Now hurry."
"Teyam!" She shouted after her lover, as he looked over to her. She noticed the bandage wrapped around his upper body making her frown slightly, but atleast she was blessed enough to still have him alive. He jogged over to the two women, a smile present on his face.
"Yes, my lo— Åstelieha." Kukz laughed at how red both Åstelieha and Neteyam turned. She turned to the boy, a smile forming on her face. "So, you are the man that unfroze my granddaughters heart." Kukz teased as Åstelieha playfully rolled her eyes, the girl biting back a smirk.
"Yes I am, ma'am."
