It was her.
Standing right in front of him.
Nearly a decade of searching for her. Nearly a decade of psychological torture, hoping that she's still out there. Nearly giving up hope for everything. And she was right in front of him.
But Ami doesn't respond. She simply keeps walking.
Y/n snaps out of his trance and attempts to step towards her.
Y/n:... Ami? Ami, you're alive! We can-
Y/n cuts himself off when he remembers what the portal said. "Valuable to our cause, but a bit reluctant". They said they solved the problem easily. But how? Torture? No, no, she looks fine, unless it's some other form of torture... Y/n shakes the idea out of his head. The glasses and mask look important... hypnotising!
Y/n: 'if i can knock the glasses off her face, she'll either go back to normal, or fall unconscious. Both of which are good.'
But before he can act, Ami lunges forward, knife in hand. Y/n counters the attack, but her body... dissipates into pink mist. That's when he recalls. Her Quirk is "Illusion". Ami can create hyper-realistic illusions of anything, including herself. In addition, she can choose who can and can't see them.
Y/n's Spidey Sense goes off, and he dodges a knife thrown at him from behind, before shooting a web at Ami.
An illusion. It dissipates into pink smoke.
Spidey Sense. He catches a knife and flings it back towards the Ami that threw it. Unsurprisingly, she also dissipates. Multiple Amis begin circling all around Y/n, and he glances around at them in distress.
Y/n: '... let me try something.'
Y/n closes his eyes and waits for his Spidey Sense to tell him what to do. He senses multiple attacks, but none are an actual threat, until...
Y/n: 'to the left!'
Y/n turns to the left and punches Amis mask, cracking it a little as she collapses to the floor. Y/n gasps and holds his mouth in shock.
Y/n: oh shit! Are you okay? I'm so sorry, i... i didn't mean to hurt you, Ami. I just wanted you to stop attacking me!
Y/n's words become desperate. Ami doesn't respond. Y/n curiously approaches her and trys to pick her up, however when he does, she dissipates into a puff of pink smoke.
Y/n: SHIT!
Y/n turns around, but before he can act, he feels a blade pierce through his chest. Ami watches silently as Y/n coughs up blood and tenses in pain, focusing his gaze on her as one eye shuts in pain.
Y/n: 'damn you, Venom. Heal me!'
Venom: 'i can't with the knife still in us!'
Ami lets go off the knife and lets Y/n drop to his knees, and with one swift kick to the head, knocks him unconscious. Y/n collapses violently to the floor and Ami walks away, fading as she goes...
Venom: 'Y/n, get uuuuuuppp... Y/n? Kid! We're losing her! Damn it!'
Venom takes full control of Y/n's body and rips the knife out of his chest before jumping up to a high point on the mountain to get a better view of the area.
Venom:... can't see her... i'll help Mr. Aizawa for now. Or should i help out the students...?
Venom looks over to the rocky mountain zone and notices Yaoyorozu, Jiro and Kaminari backed into a corner and surrounded by villains. Venom grins.
Venom: students it is!
Venom launches towards the students and crashes into the ground, shattering the earth beneath him. The villains take a step back in shock and the three students stumble around from the grounds violent shaking.
