Chapter 1 : " Her Son "

Her Husband of four years was dead , Gauri should feel grief and sense of loss for his death . He had been too good to her , of course she need to feel grief on his death except she didn't now how , not since she heard from their family lawyer that he had chosen his brother as her son's guardian over her.

At first she laughed when she heard about it because it was too absurd to even contemplate but Kishore , that is her husband friend and lawyer didn't even blink or retract his statement as he continued to look at her .

" You mean Arun left his house and inheritance to his brother right because that is what that belong to him . Not my Son " She answered back then winced about how she was quick to disregard Arun has her son's father just because he hadn't passed over his DNA.

" I Know you are upset Gauri ,but no he didn't leave his wealth or house to Vinoth, but Rahul, His son , he had put Vinoth in as your son's guardian until he turns 18 years old " Kishore answered back making her feel scared all of a sudden, this wasn't happening she hadn't come to terms with Arun's death yet and he can't possibly take away her son .

" Why not me? " She asked , no court would give her son to Vinoth when his mother was very much alive , surely they wouldn't do so Gauri had believe that because she may not be from a lawyer family but growing up she was surrounded by them from all sides .

" Arun had his concerns raising Rahul alone would be too much for you, that why he choose Vinoth and the best you can hope is get a joint custody with his brother . You can work out the details with Vinoth when he visits in few minutes " Kishore was still speaking but she felt agitated that she was supposed to sit here and listen to this nonsense .

" No ,You listen to me Kishore . This is not happening find a loophole or anything but I am not letting Rahul leave me " Gauri answered back just as her brother in law entered looking all smug and happy as if it wasn't his brother who died a month ago .

What happened the next hour had mentally exhausted her ,she asked then pleaded and finally begged Vinoth to forget he ever read the will and let her raise her son all by herself but none of it worked, he agreed to Kishore demand for joint custody though but something about the way he looked delighted to take care of her son in the weekend made her worry so much more .

In the end ,she had been the one who capitulated hoping by the time weekend arrives Vinoth would have changed his mind ,until he came right on time to take her son away . She protested yet again but he wasn't listening .

" Look Gauri ,we can do this peacefully or I can go to the court and get full custody of your son after all you know why it would be so easy to prove you are an unfit mother . Don't tell me you forgot all about the little incidents you caused " he answered back making her freeze , she knew those incidents would be her downfall as she let her clueless son leave her for the first time in her life alone with Vinoth .

Now in the confines of her house alone without her son or her husband, she broke down for the fear that she may lose her son as well . Gauri entire existence revolved around Rahul and within an hour since he left she felt bereft as if she was losing her mind until a tiny hands hugged her and she looked down to see her son .

She was sure ,she had been dreaming him up until his hands began to move .Her tear stained face couldn't see his movements clearly so she wiped it as fast as she could then bend down to look him in the eye as she asked him to repeat what he said again .

" Sorry beta ,mommy got something in the eye. Can you tell me again" She spoke up as her hands move along with her words to sign them out then her son's hand moved again making her tears dry up as it was filled with anger instead .

" You go to the room Rahul , mommy will be right there just as soon as I send your uncle away " She signed out again before turning to look at Vinoth ,her brother in law who just entered in her house .

" You bastard , you don't even know how to talk with him. Arun had been asked you to learn the sign language " Gauri spoke up anger filling her at the thought her son was alone with someone who couldn't understand him .

" Just because you and Arun learnt the language why should I learn ,if only you hadn't spoiled him. How hard it could be for him to say what he wants instead of moving his hands all the time, I know he is deaf but can't he speak up a word on what he wants instead of crying and moving his hands " he answered back making her slap him hard, harder than she did once before because she was so upset that she let her son spend an hour with this idiot.

" My son can't speak you idiot , he isn't deaf . You want to be his guardian when you don't even know that ,no do your worst I will never let you near my son again .Now get out of this house " Gauri answered back in anger until her eyes collided with his looking vengeful .

" You will regret this Gauri ,this is the second time you slapped me as well threw me out of this house ..Mark my words you will regret it " with that he walked away leaving her with a deep sense of worry but none took precedence over her son as she made her way back to him .

And her worry came true when two months later ,she got the court notice that Vinoth filled asking for full guardian ship of her son . The bastard hadn't really forgot about his revenge after all .
