Chapter 13:" Lost in unfamiliar Place "

      
        
  Gauri looked at her four months old son and wondered if he would be able to handle the travel , this was her first time travelling out of the country . Arun seemed calmer than she was as they were  seated in the plane and she was quick to relinquish her hold of Rahul and transfer her son to his dad instead .

        
As Parents they worked well together but as individuals they were strangers who lived together, she trusted Arun as he had been by her side when she was at her darkest moment and yet she didn't how to reach him in his darkest moments.  

             
She knew tomorrow was fast approaching and she was worried about Arun considering it was his wife and daughter death Anniversary, she wouldn't be able to forget that day easily as it was also the day she met him.  

               
So far he remained calm and she didn't know whether to attribute it to the peace before the storm or believe he was holding himself well. The few times she broached the topic he had dismissed her with few words making her worry a little bit more. 

                     
Arun had been so helpful to her that she feared she won't be able to do the same for him , but as a smile flickered across his face when he gazed at  Rahul ,she realized her son was doing his job better than her .

                         
They should have been tucked inside their home if not for the specialist who was referred to Arun by one of his colleagues , while Gauri was trying to grasp on to living in the reality and planning the future.  Arun still has been hoping for a miracle. 

                   
Gauri had been busy as well as she joined  few online groups for mother's whose child were differently abled as well and found them to be a source of information she didn't know existed .

                       
                    
While she still keep an eye on her   son all the time  and still has sleepless nights ,she wasn't gripped by panic as she used to when he was just born.  Her son was healthy and happy that he was quick to part with a smile that it had been more than enough for Gauri to believe they would make it. 

                 
  " You sleep Gauri . It your night to stay awake,  " Arun answered back,  and just like that she was aware he wasn't fine after all .

                     
While Arun and Gauri had a schedule ,it always had been Arun who takes up extra nights as he told Gauri that he can sleep in the morning better than her and he was used to staying awake at night when he was working on his inventions .

                       
And he never once reminded Gauri about the schedule and doing now meant only one thing ,he was aware that tonight will be hard on him  that he was already preparing to distance himself from them. 

                       
While they both married to be of support to each other ,they were still not prepared to lean on each other for moral support and never shared their deepest thoughts as well . It was so easy to keep that part of yourself from each other that Gauri understood his intentions and hoped that after tomorrow passed he would feel better .

Arun knew he wasn't in a state of mind to travel now especially to Paris ,the place he promised to take his wife and daughter once he finished up with his inventions and the fact he was here with Gauri and Rahul was hard on him as it was a constant remainder of how he  failed his family.
