19-Fortune favors the bold
Nick's pov
After that wonderful weekend I had, it's now time to head back to school. Most people would be in a sour mood because it's Monday but I'm not. I'm the happiest I can be even if I can't see my boyfriend at school!
I get to school and head to my gang's usual table.
As soon as I arrive, I notice that they all arrived before me even Taylor. Through, what bothers me is why they are all looking at me as if something happened.
"What?"
"You didn't hear?! It's Taylor's birthday!" Leo says loudly and she looks at me embarrassed.
"I already know that?" I wink at Taylor and she calms down slightly.
"Why didn't you tell us?!" Livia yells out.
"Well...I just found out yesterday?"
"How?" Myung questions.
"The same way you all probably did?" I say slightly in disbelief.
"So by the media," Dominic concludes.
"Well, I heard it from one of Taylor's friends," Livia states.
"Who cares?" I say and she glares at me.
"Anyways, I still can't believe Taylor didn't tell us!" Leo complains.
They continue complaining for a bit as I fall into thought.
Surprisingly, I'm not thinking about Ezra, I'm thinking about Taylor. Ezra has been on my mind enough those days anyways.
Regarding Taylor, she isn't actually in even one of my classes. She takes all the advanced courses that exist, while I take the basics. Not untold of for a basketball player I guess. Of course, we share the main classes but we aren't in the same class.
So, she spends time with her friends that are mostly in those classes it seems like. Though, when it's break time she's with us.
Actually, I recall Dominic saying he's in some classes with Maryka and Sydney... Damn, I haven't heard of those girls in a while except at the party of course.
"Nick!"
"What?"
"Did you hear us?"
"Yeah, what?" Dom looks back at me nonplussed.
"Seriously? Whatever."
"Then what?" I turn around and notice Taylor.
I can't help but notice she seems uncomfortable. What did they do again? Wait how could I miss that? How could I be so deep into thought like that?
"We promised Taylor here since it's her birthday that we are throwing a party for her tonight! We'll drink to celebrate!" Leo says.
"Yeah her 18th birthday is important. She deserves to have an epic birthday party like I had!" I scoff. As if Livia cares about Taylor. She only cares about herself.
"Agreed! We have to make it the best night ever!"
"Isn't it a weekday?" Myung asks.
Surprised that he gathered the thought to say that. I was sure Dominic would oppose that, though, it seems like I was wrong.
"What? What's wrong with celebrating her birthday on Monday? We always have after parties after games on weekdays." Dominic says.
"Yeah! Today it's April 25th and it's your birthday! There's no way we're missing celebrating your 18th birthday of all things!" Livia says in return.
