Chapter 6 - Kourtney and Sophie

Kourtney's POV

Sophie didn't come home last night, and she wasnt there when I woke up. I slowly got out of bed and walked into Oliwias room. She wasnt there, so i walked downstairs and she had her hair done, her make up done, and she was dressed. 'Morning' she said. 'Mornin! Going somewhere?' I said. 'Yeah I'm going to Niall's could you drop me off?' Before i could answer, my phone rang. It was sophie. 'Hey soph'

'Hey kourts'

'So what's up?

'Remember I have the dentist in an hour and you said you would pick me up' shit. I forgot. 'Yep of course i remember, see you on an hour'

'Thanks kourt. Bye'

'Bye'

'Oliwia i have to pick up sophie from the dentist' i said. 'Ok don't forget about me' she said. I went upstairs and got ready. By the time i was done, it was time to go pick up sophie. 'Oliwia you coming to pick up sophie?' I said. 'Yeah, course' she said. We walked down to the car and Oliwia sat in the front, i was driving. Of course! You really think I'd let anyone else drive my car? Well actually i need to talk to sophie about that because i can smell McDonalds. I started to drive and we passed Nialls house. 'Kourtney i thought you were dropping me at Nialls'

'Sorry liw ill do it after we haven't got time'

'Yea we do why didnt you pull over'

'Oliwia we are going to pick up sophie and that's that' I said. She was in a huff with me now. 'Oliwia just wait 10 minutes and we can go'

'See kourtney he's gone out now'

'I bet he hasnt'

It was a full blown argument now. I was trying to keep my eye on the road. 'You know what I'm phoning sophie' i said. I called Sophie's number and she answered nearly straight away. 'Sophie oliwia won't accept that we are going to pick yo-'

'No sophie kourtney wouldn't drop me to Nialls and now he's gone out without me' said Oliwia. Sophie started to speak. 'You two just hurry up and get here ive been waiting near 15 minutes'

Sophie's POV

'Hurry up and get here ive been waiting near 15 minutes' i said. Gosh these two love to argue dont they!? My appointment finished ages ago. 'Kourt just hurry up' i said. 'Ok Han-' just then i heard a loud bang, and two people screaming 'KOURTNEY!?' I shouted. Everyone was looking at me. I didnt care. 'KOURT????OLIWIA????' No-one answered me. The banging continued and then it came to a stop. I heard cars horns beeping, but neither kourtney nor Oliwia answered me. I started to cry, by now i had people crowding around me. I decided to hang up, unaware of what had happened. I called an ambulance, fearing the worst. 'Hello this is 999 emergency, which service would you like?'

'A-ambualne'

'Ok where to?'

S-somewhere near Lilyfeild d-d-dentist'

'Ok just try to stay calm and we will sent out an ambulance to you ASAP. Are you at the site of the accident?'

'No, it's my two best friends, oh my god please i don't know what happened to them' i cried.

'Try to calm down please, miss. I know it may be hard, be we need you to try and locate the scene'

'Ok- eh- eh ill see'

'Ok thank you. The ambulance will be with you shortly' I hung up, and ran out of the dentist. 'Excuse missus, you haven't payed' i heard someone shout. I kept running, not caring who saw me, tears streaming down my cheeks, trying to find my friends. My baby's. I didnt know what to expect. Just then i saw a land rover, upturned in a ditch. 'KOURTNEY! OLIWIA!?' I shouted. But of course, no-one answered me. I ran over to kourtney's car and i could see blood pouring out of it. I tried to lift up the roof but i wasn't strong enough. I ran around to the other side of the rover, i saw Oliwias arm trapped in the window. I held her hand and began crying. How could this happen to by best friends? It was my fault. If i didnt have the dentist, Oliwia and kourtney could have just stayed at home, and be safe. I could have got a bus, taxi even. I saw the ambulance stop nd i waves my arms. 'Here!!' I shouted. The paramedics ran over and pushed me out of the way 'please help them' i cried. One of the paramedics said 'please miss, we need you to be quiet' i was hurt. They had to cut the roof off kourtney's beloved car. It was then that I saw them. Kourtney and Oliwias lifeless, cold bodies, covered in blood. I thought of all the good times we had together, how we loved,laughed,played. And now i thought that they were dead, i couldn't deal with it. It took the paramedics 4 hours to cut out the bodies of my darlings, 4 hours. They were loaded into the ambulance, and i was bundled in along with them. The paramedic spoke to his team. 'This is Oliwia and kourtney both female 22 involved in a car crash with another car and one other casualty' i hope they were all gonna be ok, but by the sight of this, things were looking bad.

We arrived at the hospital and people were telling me to wait here, wait there. I got pushed around from room to room, until eventually i found myself in a cold, empty waiting room. All i could think about what if my best friends are ok. What if they died? Would I get charged for murdering them? No I'm just being stupid now, but in a situation like that, your thoughts just take over, and become stupid but you are lead to believe it. About 2 long hours later a doctor came in to talk to me. 'Hello are you miss burton?'

'Yeah, that's me'

'Well as you know, kourtney and Oliwia have been involved in a very serious car accident'

'Are they going to be ok?'

'There's no telling. We seem to have kourtney in a stable condition, but Oliwia seems to be deteriorating. She's in a coma'

'A coma?'

'Yes, not a medically induced one, either'

'Oh my god'

'There's one more thing'

'Please, no. I cant deal with this'

'Oliwia is 2 months pregnant'

'She's what!?'

'2 months pregnant'

'Yes don't say it again, i heard you'

'Ok ma'am. Ill leave you be now'

I couldn't believe it. First Oliwia and kourtney are nearly dead, now Oliwia is pregnant. Should I ring niall? Yeah. I picked up my phone, just as another doctor appeared. 'Sorry miss, but I'm going to have to ask you to refrain from using a mobile in the hospital'

'But it's important'

'Are you miss sophie burton?'

'Yes'

'Well i need you to come with me'

I just wanted to leave. I didnt want any more people telling me what to do, where to go. I reluctantly followed the nurse into what seemed to be her office. 'As you know, the car that kourtney was driving and Oliwia was a passenger in hit another car. Investigations have taken place, and it was kourtney's car that was in the wrong. She went through a red light,and another car smashed into the side of them, causing her car to roll down the ravine and into the ditch below' i didnt want any details. I just wanted them to be OK. She continued, 'I have reason to believe that you know the other person involved.'

'What?'

'Please follow me'

I followed the nurse, dumbfounded. I knew EVERYONE in the crash?

I opened the door to a ward with what seemed like millions of doctors, nurses and surgeons milling around this one person. They were performing resuscitation on this person, who i supposedly knew. The nurse lead me over to the bed, where sure enough, a familiar face lay. A perfect face covered in blood, hair that no longer held its style. Their eyes were closed, and lips were sealed. Pale body, pale cheeks. I could barely see past the oxygen mask. But as the nurse said, i may know this person. And by gosh, I knew them like the back of my hand. There, lying helpless, wounded, and near death, lay Niall. Niall Horan.
