Y/n awoke back in her bed, a girl with a bright shock of blond hair was leaning over her with a damp cloth.
"Astrid?" she questioned. Her best friend rolled her eyes.
"You have been asleep for three days, training started yesterday, not that you need it." Y/n sat up, she saw that her arm was bandaged up and hurt slightly less.
"Where is my dad?" Astrid sighed.
"The whole village sailed away, their trying to find the nest again."
"Right, of course, uh how did I get here anyway?" Astrid smirked.
"Your gonna love this, Hiccup dragged you all the way from that cliff and then tripped over you and fell into a puddle. His dad was so mad I think-." The door swung open, and a disgruntled Gobber trundled in.
"Ah Y/n I'm glad you're awake, I want your help training the others, you've already killed a dragon so I thought you wouldn't need the class."
Y/n slid out of bed.
"Sure, when do we begin?"
"In about 10 minutes, I'll see you then down in the arena?" Y/n stumbled a little, Astrid grabbed her shoulder.
"she'll be there."
The walk to the arena was hard but Y/n eventually got there with minimal bouts of dizziness. The rest of the gang was waiting outside. Fishlegs was writing in a book, the twins were slamming their helmets together, Snotlout was admiring his reflection in a water trough and Hiccup was standing off to the side looking sheepish.
"Nice of you to finally show up." Commented Snotlout.
"Hey that is no way to speak to your trainer." Snapped Astrid. Snotlout raised his hands in defence.
Y/n had always had a gift for killing dragons and she was the only one their age who had. She killed her first dragon when she was 12, A Nadder that broke into her house, Y/n had grabbed a knife from the kitchen and stabbed it in the eye but not before it killed her mother. After that she had vowed to kill every dragon, she could, once she had set her sights on one it never lived.
Y/n strode toward the entrance, she could see the inside of the arena was full of tall wooden barriers. She was about to enter when Gobber thrust her sword into her arms. Thought you might want this." He winked.
Y/n sat up on the raised edge of the arena, she could see the whole maze and everyone in it. Gobber was next to her he slammed his hook down on the lever that released the Nadder.
"Ok go" He cried as the gang split off in all directions. Hiccup ran straight toward where they were sitting. He was yelling something about Nightfuries, but Y/n wasn't listening she was focused on her best friend and Snotface who were face to face with the beast. It shot at Snotlout, hitting his shield and he was out. He grumbled as he went to join the twins on the other side of the arena. The dragon got Fishlegs next and then. It shot spines at Astrid, the force sending her rolling on the ground. She stood up and stamped her foot before joining the others. Only Hiccup was left, the dragon was chasing him, knocking over the walls as it went. Y/n looked down at her sword, she could not let this dragon kill Hiccup it was her turn to save him she knew. She stood up and jumped onto one of the walls, the dragon turned toward her and began to chase her. She leaped off the wall as it started to fall and onto the next, and then again, and then there were no more walls left and she was falling. Y/n was drenched in an overwhelming sense of Déjà vu. She landed directly on top of Hiccup...Again. Her sword was lodged directly in his shield and the Nadder was coming at them. She yanked and yanked to no avail, but the sword stayed lodged in Hiccup's shield.
"Ooooh love on the battlefield." Called out Tuffnut.
"She can do better." Added his sister.
"Just...Let me.... why don't you..." Hiccup was struggling to pull his shield away.
Finally, Y/n yanked the shield out of his hand, sword and all. She whipped around and smashed the shield against the side of the Nadder's head just as the beast lunged at them. It retreated into its cage.
Y/n turned to face Hiccup who was still on the ground.
"Is this some kind of joke to you?! Our parent's war is about to become ours! Figure out which side you're on!" Hiccup visibly flinched. Y/n felt bad, he had saved her life after all.
