"Mind yourself, last Dragoness."
My eyes widened in shock and all thoughts wiped from my mind as I stared at his smirk. How does he know?! I thought frantically, borderline panicking. Why does he know anything about the Dragoness'? And how did he know about the last Dragoness?
He nodded his head triumphantly. "That's right, Sarai. I know. And I also know that you are worried about your dragon too. Don't worry. I've got her." But the glint in his eyes tell me that it's not a good thing that he has her.
"Alanie?" I called. I waited for a response but there was nothing. Not even the feeling that connecting with her gives off is there. Just a void. Tears well in my eyes but I push them back. I would not show weakness.
Instead I laughed. I thought of the funniest thing I could think of to make sure my laugh didn't sound forced or fake. He glared at me, causing my laughter to break. Then he raised his hand and struck me across the face. Harder than my father had. So hard, everything was black within seconds. I don't even know if my body connected with the ground.

When I finally came round, I felt horrible. My face was swollen, again. It had just healed. All my muscles were sore, and I was still wet. I opened my eyes to find myself laying on cold stone floor that was slightly wet. It was dark and I was totally disoriented. I let out a small groan and sat up, the pain in my head felt like it was going to split my skull. I looked around as much as I could with the dim moonlight shining from the barred window up high. I couldn't see very far in front of me at all. But I soon found out I had heavy chains on my wrists, ankles, and waist. The shackles around my wrist and ankles were understandable for a prisoner. But the one around my waist confused me. It was snug around me, and I notice that I wasn't wearing my riding vest like I was before. In fact, I was just in my under shirt and my riding pants. That made me angry. I stood up slowly, not moving too fast in case I fell over. I was lightheaded.
"Alanie?" I said through our telepathic link. There was a slight connection feeling but it disappeared as quick as it came.
Seconds later my arm started to burn and throb in pain. It glowed bright blue and lit up the entire room. But I couldn't focus on the room. I was trying to not scream in pain, but it hurt. In the midst of my pain, I hadn't noticed the chains attached to the waist shackle had taut. There were six chains attached to it then into the wall. The chains on my wrists and ankles tightened as well, causing my arms to spread.
I vaguely noticed the heavy wooden door opening in front of me. Two men walked in followed by two more. The pain seared white out before slowly ebbing. Close to ten minutes later the pain had subsided to a dull press. I finally looked up at the four men in front of me. Two were dressed in silver armor with a green and gold crest on the chest plate. The other two were dressed regally. Erick. And the king.
Princey eyed me warily, where as the king seemed interested. As if I was a horse that had no training but was amazing to look at. The king approached me slowly. He reached out and touch my mark. I screamed, the pain was as bad as when I got the mark. I slumped but the waist shackle held me up. The king pressed his fingers harder against my arm before removing them. His finger tips glowed a soft emerald before going out. He smiled triumphantly at my mark, which caused me to worry. I looked down at my mark and gagged in horror. The once beautifully intricate marks on my arm were melted together. I turned my horror filled face up to the king.
"How could you?" I barely whispered.
"We have been out to kill the Dragoness for centuries, girl. And we finally got you. The last Dragoness." The king replied calmly.
