Riley
He sat across the room watching the class as they swapped year books.
Then he grabbed his book bag, stood up and turned to leave.
Without thinking I stood up from my desk and ran out into the hallway. "Skyler, wait!"
He stopped and turned around looking me right in the eyes.
For a moment I was frozen by his look but then I blinked and looked down. "You wouldn't mind signing my year book for me would you?"
Sliding his eyes down to the book in my hand, he gave a sideways grin. "Sure."
Skyler
I never thought Riley would ever talk to me.
She never seems interested in anyone and keeps to herself a lot.
When she came and asked me to sign her yearbook, I was shocked. There wasn't a single signature, except mine.
Riley always seemed very pretty to me but from this close she looked like an angel. Her hair was silky brown and her eyes were a rich hazel.
Suddenly I realized I had been staring a little too long. "Oh um, would you mind if I walked you home?"
She raised an eyebrow and looked at me for a moment. "Sure."
I let out a small breath of relief and nodded. "Alright cool. Is there anyone else's signatures you want to get before we leave?"
She smiled and shrugged her shoulders. "Nope, I got what I was looking for."
I felt a small rise of heat in my core. She really only wanted my signature?
After that I walked her home and was able to learn a lot more about her.
As mysterious as she may seem, she's really an amazing person.
And I'm starting to like her more and more.
