Matt Murdock is on a mission this morning and that's evident by his running around. His phone tells him the time; 4:03 AM. He's on a mission to get to the 15th precinct before Clara Marinetta does.

He gets there a few minutes later, asking for directions to Police Chief Tanner's office.

Matt knocks on the door, waiting for a response. "Come in," a gruff voice says. He opens the door and goes in.

When the chief sees him, he sighs, "what ya want?" He asks.

"I was hoping to talk to you about Detective Marinetta..."

He scoffs, "she no longer works here."

"I understand that she's collecting her belongings this morning," Matt keeps talking despite the chief trying to brush him off, "what was the reason for firing her?"

The chief narrows his eyes at him, "what's your reason for wanting to know?"

"I...," he pauses, "I'm her friend and I care for her. I was hoping to resolve some issues."

The man leans forward, "the issues are that she doesn't follow orders and last night, she ran off during an active hostage situation."

Matt inclines his head, "yes, she ran off when my friend and colleague called her because they couldn't find me. I got caught underneath some rubble a few blocks down from her. I had also broken my phone during it and couldn't get a new one. It's hard to walk through debris when you can't see," he lifts his cane to show the chief.

He sighs, "yes, but this isn't the first time Marinetta has gone off the rails... ever since the incident...," he sighs, shaking his head like it was just some unfortunate situation.

"Since the incident?"

"As her friend, I'm sure you're aware of what happened to her father and partner. Now, what is your real reason for this visit?"

Matt nods, "I want you to give Clara her job back. She's the best officer I've ever met and I think she deserves another chance."

"I can't just give her her job back. She broke her oath."

He sighs, "she panicked. She was worried about her friends, isn't that forgivable?"

Tanner crosses his arms, "I'm afraid I can't do it. I just..."

"Please," Matt steps forward, "she put nearly 10 years into getting her job. She worked hard and has saved lives, doesn't that count for something?"

He shrugs, "so have many other officers."

Matt sighs, "I was hoping it wouldn't come down to this...," he takes a file from his briefcase and sets it on the chief's desk, tapping it, "do you really want to talk about this?"

Despite the sun barely peeking over the horizon and the sky being dark, Clara found the grave without error. This grave is the only thing left of Vincent Marinetta, her father. She often came here late at night, usually after a long day at work, like this previous one was.
