"I was going to track them down myself but... I figured it'd be better if you did it."

"What are you talking about?" She asks.

"I got a name of one of the people from that night in your apartment."

"Who?"

He faces her, "Sean Collins."

--

The minute Matt left, she called Connie, "we need to question Sean Collins again."

"About what?" Connie asks, hardly awake. She must've just gotten to sleep.

"That night in my apartment," Clara didn't want to call it an incident, or God forbid, the incident. There were too many of those, they'd have to be numbered.

This makes Connie more alert, "was he one of the people there?"

"I think so."

"Are you remembering?"

"No, I got some info about him though."

It was all Connie needed to believe in her senior, "I'll meet you there."

--

Connie was surprisingly already there when Clara got there, "how'd you get here so fast, you don't have a car?"

"I live a few blocks away."

"Huh," Clara says, looking up at the tattered apartment building they had just visited a few weeks ago.

"What?"

She shrugs, "I don't know... it just seems to have gotten worse."

Connie says nothing but takes in the appearance of the building. Clara was right, it seemed. The two detectives head inside the building and are hit with the familiar odor.

Taking the elevator up, the wires creak and it stops. Clara looks up at the floor counter but its dark, "what the hell?" She mutters and clicks the floor button aggressively.

"Please don't," Connie says.

"What? Maybe it just need a reminder," she shrugs.

The elevator shakes and groans as it continues going up, startling the two women. They clutch the handrails and Connie squeezes her eyes shut. It falters for a bit and Clara closes her eyes, murmuring the beginning of a prayer. The elevator soon resumes its climb to the right floor.

When the doors open, the two rush out and stand there for a second, trying to slow down their racing hearts. "Can't believe an elevator almost took me out," Clara says, wiping the sweat from her brow.

Connie chuckles, "that'd be lame."

"So lame," Clara replies sarcastically.

They stand outside the Collins' apartment door and knock. It opens quickly and Liam looks at them, worried, "did something happen?"
