Monday

Sometime during the night, Clara's phone rings.

"Marinetta," she answers, rolling onto her back.

"There's another body, Ma'am."

Clara sits up and rubs her eyes, "where?"

"Outside the Van Lunt Real Estate office."

She looks to the other side of bed only to find it empty, "got it. I'll be there in a few," she hangs up and dials Lewis.

After getting off the phone with Lewis, she finds a text from Matt saying he has a client and will be working through the rest of the night. Clara hopes he is at the precinct and not his office building right now. He doesn't need to be swept up in the commotion of the crime scene.

--

Again, the murder scene was eerily similar to the other one. Same type of victim.

Clara turns away from the crime scene as Chief Tanner joins her, "is this the third victim?" He asks.

She nods, "we've got a serial killer on our hands."

"What do you need to solve this?"

Clara thinks for a few minutes, "I need a couple of unis to assist directly with the case. I think we should do a press conference and I'm gonna get an FBI profile on the suspect."

He nods, "any unis in particular."

She looks at the officers at the scene. Preferably ones that won't break her trust, "Officer Mahoney, Jacobson, and Kline should be sufficient."

"Okay, I'll set up the press conference in the morning."

"Thanks," Clara walks over to where Lewis is.

Lewis turns to Clara, "I just talked to who found the body. She was going on a late night jog when she found the woman. She went right back to her car and called the police."

Clara nods, "Tanner's giving us some more hands for the case."

"Other detectives?"

"Unis."

--

It was no secret that some people didn't like Clara, especially after Charlie. People have been whispering about her in the department. There have been rumors being spread about why Charlie was corrupt. Naturally, Clara ignored them at first but it was tiring. It was tiring, trying to pretend it didn't bother her.

Clara knocks on the door. It was no secret that Chief Tanner hated her. Hopefully it's a secret that she hated Chief Tanner. He doesn't need another reason to not like her.

"Come in," he says.

She opens the door and enters his office, "good morning, sir."

"Do you know why I called you in here?"

Clara shuts the door behind her, "I'm not sure..."
