Wednesday

Clara feels the tension in the room as soon as she enters the restaurant. Everyone keeps their eyes on her as she walks up to the cash register. Taking her badge out and placing it on the counter, "I'm here to see Nesbitt." The man behind the counter eyes her, not responding. She sighs, "I'm not here to arrest anyone or anything like that. I just need some info from him." The cashier still doesn't respond but nods. Clara grabs her badge, putting it back on her hip, and follows the man through the back.

"Who is this?" A bald man at the head of the table asks. Nesbitt.

"I'm Detective Marinetta. I need some info from you."

He raises an eyebrow, "really?"

She nods, "an ex-member of yours is killing innocent woman and sewing their mouths shut."  Clara hands the file over to him.

"And you think I know who it is?"

She shrugs, "I don't know. I'm thinking you remember who killed two of your hits last year." She hands another file over.

Nesbitt opens it, "I remember but why would I help the police?"

"Well, this guy is killing off your clientele. That is assuming you are taking over for the Russians and the Yakuza."

Nesbitt sighs, "we don't sell drugs, if that's what you mean."

"I don't care what you do, that's narcotics job. I just want a couple of names of whoever it could be."

He nods to the people around him and a man walks to the back. A minute later, he comes back out with a notebook and hands it to Nesbitt. "I'm hoping you'll use discretion when looking into these men. We wouldn't want anything unfortunate to happen to you," he writes down a few names and hands the list to Clara.

"Thanks." she gets up to leave. The men watch her the whole way until she gets outside.

As soon as she's back at the precinct, she begins researching the names. Once she's got the files on them, she brings the information into the board room.

"I got two names from Nesbitt," she hands the files to Lewis.

"He just handed them over?"

Clara shrugs, "yeah well an ex-member killing people isn't a good look for them, especially to other gangs."

"Daniel Murphy... didn't Hoffman mention that name?"

"Yeah," she nods, "let's pay Mr Murphy a visit."

"Wait," Lewis looks at the other file, "who's this other one... Thomas Fowler?"

"He was in the Irish Mob for a decade but was never used for the dirty work. He left after his mother got sick."

"Are we going to visit him?"

"I'm not sure," Clara says, "he's not at the top of my list right now but if we find the time to we will."
