About halfway through homeroom a staff member came running in with Maria's saxophone which she had forgotten and was therefore driven to school by her very irritated mother. Maria took it and whispered her thanks as Mr.Nipsgiv continued his lecture on school rules. Maria sighed and whispered, through her thick accent, over to a girl named Crystal "Have I seen you before?" "Yes, I was in your dance class last summer when I visited Buenos Aires" she replied softly and then she swiveled her attention back to Mr.Nipsgiv. When homeroom finished she looked at her schedule and asked Crystal "Do you know where Pre-Algebra with Mr.Jocan is?" "Yeah! I have his class next period too!" Crystal said back, grabbing Maria's hand and dragging her to Mr.Jocan's room. When everyone entered Mr.Jocan's room he immediately started class. No introductions, no break, no nothing he just said "I don't waste your parents' money" and begun. When the class ended Crystal introduced Maria to Tamatha, Iva, Enomis, and Dave. "What do you have next?" Tamatha asked Maria. "Ballet" she responded quietly. "Cool" Tamatha said, continuing "I can introduce you to Kylie, Nia, Jenny, Iana, Mila, and Lori" "OK?" Maria said already being dragged towards the studio. "Wait for me!" Iva yelled out as a girl holding a flute said "Hi" to Maria in passing. "Holaaaaaaaaah" Maria replied as Tamatha picked up the pace. When they arrived Iva was panting and Maria was rubbing her wrist, but Tamatha was cheery. Maria could already tell, this would be one heck of a year.
