The weather is getting colder the closer December creeps, but Kevin is plenty warm using Daisy's thighs as earmuffs while she rocks her pelvis back and forth over his open mouth. He holds her waist steady, while she grips tight onto the headboard to keep herself upright. The track marks from her bad days are visible on the insides of her thighs, so he makes sure to keep his eyes closed to stop her from getting self-conscious. And shit, it's noisy, what with this ancient bedframe threatening to give out at any moment and Daisy biting down on her lip to stifle any noise.

She's wearing her pyjama shirt and nothing else, because twenty minutes ago she was saying goodbye to the girls before they left for the Thanksgiving break. Kevin had been here already, of course, because they were watching the rerun of their game from last night and making notes like they always do while the others were running around cramming last minute things into their carry-on luggage and making sure phones were charged before Matt drove them out.

And now, with her entire body buzzing electric, Daisy lets a single whimper escape her lips as her legs give up strength and she falls with a thud to Kevin's left side. He lifts the neckline of his t-shirt to swipe over his lips and jaw, then turns to face her with an arm propping up his head.

"You know," says Daisy, chest heaving with exhaustion, "if that happened every time I told you to shut up, I'd be so much fucking meaner to you."

"Fuck off," Kevin replies, but he doesn't mean it, they both know that.

It's been almost a week since their crawl back from Columbia, with Daisy quivering behind the wheel and Kevin staring at the horizon in the passenger's seat. The girls and Matt had met them at the top of the stairs, they'd all gotten blind drunk with Daisy and Renee the sober observers, and then somehow, it just stuck. There were no more lines between Andrew's lot and the others, no invisible barrier stopping them from hanging out. Nicky, ever desperate to associate with the others, finally had his dream come true and had been hanging around the girls' dorm for the better part of the week. Aaron and Matt had forged a strange companionship, and even Neil was spending more time out of his dorm room.

Not to mention, Daisy is secretly relishing in the fact that having Kevin over is no longer taboo. Except for their hours sleeping, most minutes are spent together. She'd call him her best friend if that wasn't so lame, but she'd mean it nonetheless. They head to training in the morning together ("it's just easier, I drink the same protein shakes as him!"), catch up between classes ("he's such a freak, he hunts me down to make sure I'm not buying drugs!"), and get dinner together in the dining hall or in their diner downtown ("I'm, like, 100% sure he keeps a food diary to make sure I'm not cramming my body with sugar"). Evenings are spent studying in the library, where Kevin annotates heavy textbooks and Daisy tries to muster a shit about the degree she's absolutely flunking, and then they either watch old games or hang out with their teammates.

It's not weird, though. They aren't, like, dating or anything.

And now they have five days off from classes, from training, from life in general. Daisy plans to spend most of it doing nothing, despite their upcoming exams and the fact that she really does need to break in her new running shoes. She wants to hang at the court with Kevin, getting her aim back up to par with her heavy racquet and having sex in the women's locker room. This week is going to be bliss, she can just feel it--

"Daisy, get your hands out of your pants before I get in there!" somebody yells from outside of the bedroom, and both of their eyes go wide as saucers. It's a precarious fucking situation to be in, with Kevin rock hard beside Daisy, who absolutely looks like she just had sex with Kevin's mouth.
