Chapter 21 - Green of Envy

I smile and watch as Andy jolts up and dashes to me, lifting me away from Ashley's grasp and spinning me around "It's been way too damn long."

I giggle "Put me down! Put me down!" kicking my legs and gripping his shoulders so I wouldn't fall

"Fine." He pouts childishly.

I smile and Hug him, "I missed you too Batman."

The others come and we all have a big band hug, except for one person. I look past Andy's shoulder and between his and Jinx's head I saw Juliet glaring daggers at me.

"Okay okay, I need air!" I say, now feeling awkward. I completely forgot Juliet was with them and I regret coming onto the bus.

I glanced back to the road but Bring Me The Horizon's bus was gone. Suddenly I missed Oliver's burp contests, anything would be better than dealing with the edgy air in this bus, trouble was already brewing.

"We all missed you." CC beams, cheering and throwing his arms up.

"Oh CC! I got a few things to show you to make you proud later." I exclaim proudly

"I'm so excited then!" He matches my energy.

I look at Jinx and smile "I promised you I'd do makeup right? At a grocery stop, I'll get things I need and I'll let you guys pick what you wanna look like."

Glancing at Jake I smile and produce a camera. "For your vlogs, and I have a few of them on there already.. From being with bands."

Jake smiles, "Wow that's pretty awesome! This is a ton better than the camera I have. Where did you get it?"

"I'm a photographer dummy." I smirk, "I got a bit of money coming my way for getting behind-the-scene pictures on warped tour instead of classic concert pictures."

"Oh, thanks so much Dessy!" Jake hugs me again and I chuckle then he backs off to play with his new toy.

"Ash, I got more designs for your fashion for you to consider."

"Really? Why?" He looks confused

"I had a lot of down time.." I murmur looking away.

He chuckles "Sweet" and walks back to his little spot on the couch, pulling out his 'Hustler' magazine.

I look at Andy who raises an eyebrow, "You brought something for everyone, they all look so happy." He laughs looking at his content band.

"Almost.. I don't have anything for you .. or for Juliet I guess. Sorry." I frown, looking down feeling guilty.

"It's fine, having you here is the best present ever." Andy grins brightly and embraces me again.

I cuddle him back until someone clears their throat. I step away from Andy quickly and my gaze is down, I stumble into Jinx who wraps his arms around me to stop me from falling.

"Rabbit, Babe... Come cuddle with me." Juliet pouts.

I look at Jinx and apologize profusely, "J-Jinx I'm sorry!"

He put a finger to my lips, a silent plea to stop. Jinx was of course, still the quietest member. I sigh and watch as Andy turns around and walks off to Juliet, putting an arm around her waist as they go back and climb into his bunk together, Andy avoided my look as I watched this befall.

I sigh, weary of watching my batman walk away with other girls, knowing they were going to be so close together made my chest constrict as a feeling of jealousy and sadness filled me.

"Desrae, are you okay?" I hear a voice but it sounds far away with all the thoughts flooding my focus at that moment.

All I hear is segments from past conversations, past memories with Andy and Juliet, Andy and Scout, and Andy with Hannah. Watching him date since Jr. High was painful to watch and remember. I cringe and bite back a scream as someone touches my shoulder.

Ashley looks at me, a gentle touch on my shoulder to match his genuinely concerned face. "Desrae. You've been standing there for ten minutes, what's wrong?"

I look around and see the entire band looking at me. I suddenly feel embarrassed and cover my reddening face. "N-nothing.." I stutter but my voice was rickety from the approaching panic attack.

Ashley had dealt with this panic episode many times and carried me off without further questions. He takes me into the small bathroom, barely fitting both of us. He sits me on the closed toilet and stoops in front of me, looking up at me.

"Desrae... you can cry now." He murmurs.

Still covering my face I begin to cry, Ashley playing loud music to drown out my crying. I lean forward and put my arms around him and sob. "It hurts." I whispered into his ear.

I saw a pained look cross his face, not knowing how to comfort me as he just rubs my back consolingly. "I'm sorry Dessy." He says softly in response.

We must have sat there for half an hour but for me it felt like endless eternity, an infinite pit of desolation knowing that Andy would never chose me. I'd always be just his Robin; I'd never be his Cat Woman like Juliet.

Ashley wipes the tears from my face and I thank him for helping me. His shoulder was now damp from my tears and I offer to clean it up but he shrugs and smiles softly at me, stating it was fine and he'd just walk around shirtless.

I smile a bit at Ashley and soon we leave the bathroom after he stops the music. The boys were off doing their own thing as I got back to masking my pain with a smile. Sitting curled up on the couch I fall asleep on Ashley's lap falling asleep to the vile sound of Juliet's giggling.
