Chapter 8 ~ That’s Enough

I sat scowling on my bed in the shared bedroom with Andy. The place was trashed because we weren’t very organized, but it had gotten worse when Scout started unpacking and made herself at home.

Andy and Scout sat watching TV, barley paying attention to the show, and instead having a make out session and giggling at each other. I hated it, I was fuming with jealously. Unlike Andy would notice.

I had been listening to this for four hours, and I was officially fed up.

I got a bag, stuffed it with some clothes strewn across the floor and stormed out of the house, slamming the door behind me. Leaving a startled Scout and Andy staring at the door. I counted the cash I hado n me and took the bus to my destination.

I sat on his porch and looked down nervously, I was blushing slightly already and twisted the toe of my boot into the concrete step.

“Fuck….” I said under my breath as I stared at his door.

I made myself walk a step closer to the door and knocked three times, waiting and blushing harder. I thought this was a stupid idea and I should walk back to our little hotel apartment and turned to leave, but he answered the door.

“Desrae?” He asked confused, the smell of whisky was faint on him.

“Someone’s been drinking.” I say and turned around.

Ashley rubbed his eyes and looked at me, leaning in his doorway. “Maybe I was, last night. Why you here? The practice isn’t for another two days?”

“Well… you know how Scout came back?” I ask looking down again and hiding my hands in my leather jacket’s sleeves.

Ashley nodded. “Yeah and they’re getting really annoying and you’re getting jealous and just want to get out of there as fast as humanly possible, correct?”

I nodded and looked up to meet his nutmeg colored eyes.

“You are welcome here in Casa Del Purdy but uh, be careful it’s messy.” Ashley said moving aside to let me through.

I smile and hug him. “Thanks Ashley, you have no idea how big a help this is, I swear I’ll go back as soon as the practice day has arrived.”

Ashley hugged me back and laughed. “You can stay however long you want.”

I nod as Ashley walked me into his house; I looked around at the beige walls decorated in Ashley like décor. A Marilyn Monroe painting was behind his computer desk, a few guitars sit on stands between the couch and the desk. The comfy looking beige couch matched the walls and was made of leather. Two little dogs rushed up to me to check me out, a white and black Pomeranian, Ashley smiled as the dogs jumped on me.

“Des, meet Ashley and Tokyo.” Ashley said with a smile as I picked Killer the black one up.

“They’re so cute!” I laugh.

Ashley smiled.  “I just got Killer, but I’ve had Tokyo sense my last band.”

“That’s cool.” I smile again, “I love dogs. I had a brindle pit-bull named Chaos, but he was the sweetest cuddle-bug ever!”

“Cuddle-bug?”

“Don’t judge.” I smirk looking over at Ashley who raised his hands in defeat.

I sit on his couch and laugh as he turns on a Hello Kitty cartoon on-demand, he was so like Andy with his little obsession and it made me laugh.

Maybe living with Purdy wouldn’t be so bad, it surely would give Andy and Scout some alone-time, not like I was needed anyways.
