The Royal Alpha

~Nine~

Two months later

Jin was helping his aunt hang the wet laundry outside on the clothesline.

Her small two bedroom house was located down a dirt road off the main road. It was surrounded by trees and woodland creatures. She always warned him not to wander off into the woods because of the animals and what she insisted were fairies in the area.

He never really felt the urge to go exploring. He mostly stayed inside and helped her with her orders. She would sell her pastries to the local bakery and occasionally from home.

He kept himself busy that way during the day. But at night he would still feel an emptiness in his chest. He often wondered what his Alpha was doing. He still claimed him as his Alpha, even though some one else has him now.

Early the next morning before dawn, he woke himself up from a dream and started crying. He had a terrible feeling that his Alpha was suffering greatly at the hands of something dark.

His sobbing woke up his aunt and she came running into his room. She rushes to his side and comforts him in her arms.

"Shh, shh.. it's ok now Jin-ah. Whatever you dreamed was just that, a dream. Try to forget about it for the sake of your pup. He or she feels everything you do and you don't want to pass your worries onto him." She pats his shoulder gently.

"Do you want to talk about it? It might help." She asks.

He shakes his head and says, "No. no.. I will be fine. I'm sorry if I woke you."

"You didn't.. but even if you did, I wouldn't mind. It's been such a blessing having you here with me. My life has always been just work and sleep. But I love having someone to talk to and who makes me laugh. So don't you worry. I just want you to be happy and safe."

"Thank you so much imo.. I am so grateful for everything you have done for me."

She smiled at him and said, "I do it because you're my nephew and I love you. Now should we get started on breakfast before we start our day?"

He nods and tells her he will just shower and get dressed.

They then spend the morning baking and getting the orders ready for transport.

Namjoon was sitting in a chair in the common room looking over some documents. He began to hear whispers and shuffling feet in the hallway. He lowers the paperwork in his hands and glances out.

He then sees Tae's alleged omega and her mother walk by huddled together. They are talking too low so he can't hear them, even with his advanced hearing.

So curiosity gets the best of him and he begins to follow them. They continue walking to the kitchen and tell the cook that they will be cooking the Kings meal that morning.

The cook takes his leave along with the remaining helpers. Namjoon spies on them from a darkened corner. He then watches as Ga-young begins to stir the stew in the pot. And her mother looks around briefly before pulling out a small bottle from her shawl.

Ga-young then pours some of the stew into a bowl and places it on a tray. They then go about adding more food in smaller bowls along with a pitcher of water. Once everything is placed on the tray, her mother adds several drops to the bowl of stew and mixes it around.

Namjoon is shocked when he sees them and quickly runs out of the kitchen. He makes a dash to his brothers room and enters.

He finds his mother already in there and Tae is laying on the bed looking pale and sick. He seems to be asleep. So Namjoon calls his mother over to him and quickly tells her, "I need you to go make Taehyung a fresh batch of something new for dinner. I will explain later just please go now and don't let those two witches see you."
