~Eighteen~

Back at the palace

"Your highness, some of the townsfolk are here with demands of protection." One of the courtiers tells Taehyung's father.

"Protection from what?" Tae's father asks.

"They claim that their properties have been attacked during the night by a troll under the control of a witch."

Taehyung's father sighs exasperatedly. "Please don't tell me that the witch is causing mischief once again. On top of that, Taehyung-ah still hasn't returned to his throne."

"I don't know for sure if it's the same witch. But it most likely is. Should I let them in?"

Taehyung's father sighs and tells his wife, "You need to get a hold of your son and tell him he needs to return to his duties as Alpha king." Then nods 'yes' to the courtier.

"I'm going to make a couple of calls." His wife says as she walks away.

The courtier soon returns with several people who look like farmers. They stand in front of him and bow down before waiting for him to speak first.

"What exactly is happening to your properties?" He asks.

A short, plump older woman walks closer and looks distraught. "My home was attacked by a troll your majesty. He tore down the fence and stomped through our fields of onions and squash that were almost ready for harvest. He ruined our entire crop for the season. And he continued on and knocked a wall down to our tool shed. We don't know what to do now. Selling our crops was our livelihood. How are we to get by now?"

He then asks everyone else for their tales of woe and afterwards tells them, "I understand your concerns and frustration. But rest assured that I will make sure to gather our best men to take care of the trouble makers. For now, go see the royal counselor and he will help you with your losses."

Once they were gone, he called for the royal guards.

When they arrived he explained the problem and told them to go investigate what is happening and to try to solve the problem.

Later that evening the guards have been talking with the local townsfolk who all repeat the same story. As dusk approaches they are riding their horses down the road to one of the houses that were damaged.

Before any of them have a chance to climb down from their horse, a loud roar is heard followed by loud rumbling. They look all around the area and they are all thrown off their saddles when the horses are spooked by the huge troll heading towards them.

He's not as big as they were told, but still a monstrous creature. He rushes towards them and easily grabs two, raises them above his head and tosses them as if they were rag dolls.

The others then charge at him with their weapons drawn and begin attacking him. Which doesn't seem to have any affect on him.

They continue to attack him to the point of exhaustion without much success. Until the ogre stops as if being called and then quickly turning and disappearing into the woods.

The guards are still on the ground trying to catch their breath and assessing their wounds.

They decide to retreat and return to the palace and explain what happened. So they can be better prepared next time they return.

Taehyung, Jimin and Yoongi are getting close to the path that leads to the cottage. When they climb out, Yoongi looks all around and his hairs stand on edge.

A shiver runs down his spine and Jimin notices the change.

"What is it babe?"

Yoongi looks straight ahead and says, "I don't know. I'm getting the strangest feeling. Kinda like we're being watched. Don't you feel it?"
